Have young mom with an 11 month & 4 yr old on the street. Directed her to call Emergency Social Services, (Alberta Benefits) The same worker continues to answer & hangs up on this mom. I 3way'd called with mom & identified myself(politely). He demanded I hang up...#ableg #Abpoli

Child Welfare was able to help, via a somewhat long conversation they had with Income support while mom and I were on hold. Income support needs to understand when children are at risk, hanging up for little or no reasons is not what #Albertans expect from their public service.
1/ Helping a mother of two small children(A victim of domestic violence) who has been immediately evicted from a 2nd stage shelter(In theory, a more supportive long term housing program). Mom has no where to go. I am helping her to get an emergency motel room. #ableg #abpoli

Our society is not serving its citizens. Our citizens are being sacrificed for an ideologically driven narrative that has turned our losses into statistics. Policy is handing out death sentences, and I refuse to understand why.

He also discussed the lack of transparency, environmental concerns, royalties, etc. The council then unanimously voted to send a letter to @jkenney requesting the IMMEDIATE reinstatement of the coal policy and which was rescinded on June 1 , 2020.
Further more, requesting that the Government Of Alberta

If you haven't driven down the 22, it is gorgeous - rolling foothills, streams cutting through picturesque ranch land, and a rugged mountain landscape background. Near Maycroft provincial park, right near the Crowsnest pass is where this thing stands, approx. 12 feet tall.
It sounds like the Tin Man from Oz when you knock on it and looks to be made of shiny sheet metal. Seems to be mounted firmly into the ground, with no visible supports

At the end of 96h in 8d on service and have been all over ED and multiple COVID units. Anger/frustration increasing daily from all MDs, nurses, staff in here at lack of vaccinations while watching others w no #COVID19 exposure/risk getting theirs.

We spent months in the Spring working w many Dept. of Med colleagues working on an #MD workforce expansion plan specifically b/c there are not enough #hospitalists and #internists to handle pt. volumes.

Jen here, I am currently waiting for my car 2 warm up 2 be able 2 drive 2 a home in #Martindale to pick up & drive a mom & young son to the Children’s Hospital.
She needed a ride & did not have enough money to pay for a cab.

Earlier this year we began planning this raffle in hopes of being able to garner enough success out of this raffle to sustain both organizations for a month or more.

This is very hard for us to write. But we feel we have no other choice due to us seeing the massive amount of requests that we are getting daily for both Humans and Pets.

This past weekend alone, we had over 30 emergency requests from individuals & families fleeing domestic violence. Many leaving with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
We were able to help about 17 of these individuals find shelter and lodging via referrals to other groups.

The other 13 individuals are being helped by our awesome volunteers. We are tracking down emergency funding and helping them apply for help through various organizations here in #Calgary.
We will be assisting them and their families in hopes of helping them feel safe once again.

The #ABtracetogether app was copied by @Deloitte from an open source project initially created in Singapore. The #COVIDAlert app was created by volunteers from @Shopify and @BlackBerry and handed over to the Canada Digital Services team @CDS_GC who now maintain it.

Today was a long and busy day.
16 Food hampers went out and were delivered! Just drained and frustrated as yet another mom was on my mind all day today.
Racism and bullying was on my mind today too. There were times when I pulled over after a delivery and just cried.

My emotions were all over the place. I went through the gamut of feelings but most of all I was angry.
Now I understand that government agencies have mandates to work under. However they also have discretion and emergency funding to help people.
