My name is Ogechi Nwonye, I am a Social Entrepreneur & a recycler based in Enugu State, Nigeria. Over the years, I have come to the realization that we are surrounded heavily by Plastic Waste and we churn out even more as the day goes by.

Everyday i wake up to start my day, . ImageImage
i have the tendency to pack food and water for my kids by using reusable water bottles for the children to take to school, but I noticed adults who are in traffic, buy water Satchets, Plastic Water and dispose indiscriminately, likewise at the cafeteria rather than adults to
bring in their own reusable bottle, they make use of disposable cups & straws which contributes negatively to the Environment.

If you’re heading to Bangsaen Beach this weekend you might want to turnaround now and go home. Unless your hotel has a nice swimming pool you won’t be able to swim in the sea due to all the plastic rubbish that has been washed up #Thailand ImageImageImageImage
Further down Bangsaen Beach it’s a bit cleaner, though I’m not sure if it’s advisable to swim in the sea. I saw some glass bottles among the plastic. The weather is stormy at the moment and so most, though not all of the rubbish, is being washed up. #Thailand ImageImageImageImage
Municipal workers are doing a beach clean up but really they are only scratching the surface. You need an army of people here to clean up Bangsaen Beach. But then, the next storm will just wash up even more. It will only stop when humans stop dumping rubbish in waterways ImageImageImageImage

A dead sperm whale full of plastic.

A little boy, Lennard, so impressed that he asked how he could help marine animals...

Lennard (3) did not want to wait to go on a beach to pick plastic.

He decided to act now, with his friends from the kindergarten.

He was right: even if you live in Monheim 🇩🇪, at 250 kms from the sea, less trash in Nature means less dead 🐋
