Day 13 #GhislaineMaxwellTrial

Judge Nathan will read the charge, then closing arguements by Gov and Defence before the jury retires.

How long will a verdict take? #Weinstein's jury took 26 hours, #BillCosby's took 52 hours.

Will she know by her 60th b'day on Xmas day?
Interesting to see that #MichelleHealy one of #GhislaineMaxwell's witnesses has done some deleting on her FB. Or did the person leaving the comment delete?
And a long list of exhibits will be released to the public.

1/25 Thread: “Jeffrey #Epstein and the Temple of Doom” - this is outside the norm for me as it’s more of a cultural observation than #FBI #LEanalysis, but it crossed into two areas in which I have interest (film and law enforcement), so I thought I’d share. @Tiff_FitzHenry
2/#StevenSpielberg and #GeorgeLucas had the likes of Epstein in mind when they forged one of the most iconic characters in cinema history, #IndianaJones. The full-time prof and part-time adventurer was handsome, charismatic, well-traveled and had abused at least one underage girl.
3/In the first installment of the Indiana Jones series, #RAIDERSOFTHELOSTARK, Indy travels to Nepal in search for an artifact essential to finding the lost Ark of the Covenant. It’s in a Nepalese bar where Indy encounters, Marion Ravenwood.

I've seen at least two tweets today on #JusticeThomas but featuring profile photos of #BillCosby, despite NO RELATIONSHIP between the article and the photo.
Because such efforts at amusement should not go unrewarded, here are some of my favorite photos of Washington political types:
Nancy Pelosi:

Don't ask me what she was doing inside that dog, but I'm sure she's glad to be able to breathe again.

Breaking down SC Senator Lindsey Graham's turn to testify; a thread
2)
First of all, was Lindsey Graham called to testify in the hearings? Of fucking course he wasn't, he has no more information than any of the other senators had. But he is ENTITLED you see! The same way a dude named Brett is ENTITLED to join SCOTUS!
3) (Btw these are the same people who rage against "entitlement programs" like, you know, food stamps and disability. We don't have a right to eat or to medical care. But they HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK OVER US AND BLAME US AND IGNORE OUR PAIN AND THREATEN US! Talk about entitled.)

Be careful who you make your heroes. They will almost always let you down.

When Bill Cosby is sentenced today, for only one of the many crimes of which he stands accused, it will be a day of small justice for his victims and their families, and a day of regret for so many.

1/
Growing up in small town America, in a town so small, you almost certainly never heard of it, my very white, insular, and, in many ways typically racist family would gather around on Thursday evenings and do what almost every American family was doing, watch The Cosby Show.

2/
We laughed louder, harder, and longer together watching that show than any show before or since.

Though dated now, especially when considered next to a near contemporary like, say, The Golden Girls, at the time it, and its creator & namesake had their finger on our pulse.

THREAD: Closing arguments have wrapped for #BillCosby’s retrial. Over the years, nearly 60 women have accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault, but this retrial hasn't received a lot of attention. Here’s what you need to know about Cosby’s predatory behavior and the retrial:
Bill Cosby is facing three counts of aggravated indecent assault. Last year, the first trial against Cosby ended in a mistrial because jurors couldn't come to a unanimous verdict on any of the three charges. usatoday.com/story/life/peo… #MeToo
The woman at the center of the retrial is former Temple University employee Andrea Constand—she accused Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 2004. Constand sued Cosby in 2005 and received a settlement, but came forward again in 2015. nytimes.com/2018/04/13/art… #MeToo

Most men that I know, men who respect women as equals, are shocked when allegations come out about people like #HarveyWeinstein, #BillCosby, #LouisCK. They are in shock when men they know are accused of sexually harassing or assaulting women. THREAD 1 #BelieveWomen #RWU #MeToo
Some men find it very hard to believe that these things are so common, because they would never DO those things. If I were a man and I hadn’t experienced harassment and inappropriate behavior multiple times, I would probably find it difficult to believe. 2 #MeToo #BelieveHer
I decided to share about what I’ve experienced, so that good men who respect women can start to understand that these things happen to women know they know, work with, are related to, and love, every day. Their friends, neighbors, coworkers, relatives. 3 #sexualharassment

We might want to consider the reality that until MEN wanted to take #HarveyWeinstein down, nothing was done about his serial sexual assault.
We might also consider men have NOT wanted to take down #BillCosby,RomanPolanski(that 13yr old was raped at Jack Nicholson's) or WoodyAllen.
#CourtneyLove spoke out about #HarveyWeinsten in 2005 but was dismissed as a crazy lady b/c of her drug issues. Abuse victims self-medicate.
