last night the FT reported Truss will immediately invoke Article 16 causing a trade war whilst we have rampant inflation, are heading in to recession & at the moment 70% of businesses will fall off a cliff in October when they renegotiate energy bill
#EnoughIsEnough #energybills #EnergyCrisis
several quotes here from 300% increases to over 1,100%.... as I have been alerting everyone to, since the 10th March.

if govt doesn't step in immediately, the UK will have businesses failing faster & harder than they did in 2008
#EnoughIsEnough #energybills #EnergyCrisis
here's my thread from the 10th March stating businesses will fall off a cliff, nearly 6 months later STILL NO ACTION has been taken, this is INEXCUSABLE! If I knew it in March, then the govt sure as hell did!

November 1st, and we’re still in the #EU thanks entirely to the @Conservatives (Brexit means #Brexit, Deal or No Deal, Do or Die, No Ifs No Buts, blah blah) who have been in power every day since the referendum. They could have taken us out at any time, but they chose not to.
@Conservatives The #Tories brazenly reneged on the core promise of their last manifesto, and they’ve got the nerve to behave as if it’s not their fault. It is entirely their fault that the UK is still in the #EU after more than three years. It was entirely in their hands after the referendum.
@Conservatives The #Tories had a majority and they squandered it. They refused to remove a leader who had no intention of delivering independence until she became such an embarrassment they had to. #Johnson took up where she left off. His #FakeBrexit is her sell-out deal with a lick of paint.

A vote for the #Tories in this election is a surrender vote, a vote to stay under #EU control. #Johnson’s insistence on pushing his #FakeBrexit shows he has no intention of delivering independence. He won’t even try. The #BrexitParty is the only vote if we want #Brexit delivered.
#Johnson has broken trust with the people. He could have been a national hero, but has stayed loyal to his own tribe. He’s hoping we’re so worn out by 3 years of lies and obstruction we’ll settle for anything. His #FakeBrexit is an establishment trap to keep us under #EU control.
#BorisJohnson has a large majority in the palm of his hand if he makes a ‘no deal’ pact with #Farage and the #BrexitParty, but he refuses to do it because, like most #Tories, he doesn’t want the #UK to be independent.

What #ParliamentShutDown is about.
A thread on strategy and tactics.

Premises: Cummings is the decision maker, a rare beast who understands at least the most fundamental rules of strategy. His final aim is to consolidate power.

#Brexit is a tool, not the aim.

In a confrontation with multiple players, only a fool thinks it's possible to plot a precise route to victory. Smarter people know that the best way to increase the chances of success is to maximise one's own options and reduce the options available to the opposition.
2/n
#ParliamentShutDown does this in multiple ways.
1st: it forces honest democrats to fight back, engaging in a battle chosen by Cummings. This is bad, but not baiting is even worse! It already is a tactical cost we can't avoid paying.

Important result that Tories lost twice as many seats to #Remain parties than #BrexitParty. BXP swapped for 23 UKIP and gained extra 5 to get 28. Tories lost 15 seats - 5 to BXP and 10 to Remain.
#EUelections2019 #EP2019
Conservative MPs must be aware that it's too late for new members to join & vote in #ToryLeadershipContest. However, if a general election is coming, there will probably be time to take part in selections/deselections of MP. This may be by #Remain voters.
#EUelections2019
6M plus signed a petition to revoke Article 50. If 2.5% of them joined the Conservatives, then they would be likely bigger than the current membership. Won't be enough time for #ToryLeadership in the #ToryLeadershipContest but possibly enough time before any General Election.

3/ This combines constituency level data on 2017 general election with recent Westminster vote intention polls to estimate the flow of voters to the Brexit Party, giving us median and maximum estimates

Vote for #Farage and get this. This man is Crispin Odey. He bankrolled #VoteLeave and made 220m when leave won by shorting the pound. Farage helped the markets to fluctuate when he 'conceded' the referendum early. You are being used to fill their pockets. #BrexitParty #EUElection
Odey also has links to Rees-Mogg. He helped Jacob set up his hedge fund, and also helped towards his election costs. They are all in this together, they pretend to care about the working-class, but in truth they are exploiting us to make more money. ft.com/content/a42110…
Thank you to everyone that has RT this so far, please keep sharing it, it may help some people change their minds about the #EUElections2019

What kind of person chooses to use specifically NON-European people fleeing war, who have no EU rights to enter the UK, as a political tool to scare people about immigration from EU countries?
#EuropeanElections #BrexitParty
As much as I criticise the failure of our media in 2016, @krishgm did an absolutely stellar job taking Nigel Farage apart on the blatant racism behind that poster in 2016.
Just to back up the law behind the points we're making...

You can't argue that we should vote to leave the EU on the basis of getting a proper trade deal, and then complain that we haven't left the EU without one.
#EuropeanElections2019
That includes you Nigel Farage.
When you passionately defended the idea of leaving the EU and staying in the Single Market, you lost the right to say we should leave without a deal.
In fact, you made it morally disgusting for yourself to do so.
#BrexitParty #EuropeanElections2019
That includes @DominicRaab.
Dominic Raab said the idea of leaving the EU without a deal was scaremongering.
He wasn't even talking about the damage from no deal; Dominic Raab said the very concept of leaving without a deal was Project Fear

A short thread about Nigel Farage’s new Brexit Party candidates from Spiked (Claire Fox & Alka Cuthbert - also active in the Full Brexit pressure group), their Northern Ireland backstory, and the crapness of our media:
1/ A while back I looked at Sunday Times allegations about Jeremy Corbyn’s IRA links brockley.blogspot.com/2018/09/jeremy… with a follow up about the Warrington bombings and the general climate on the left at the time brockley.blogspot.com/2018/09/three-…
2/ I noted that most of the left were broadly pro-Republican in the 1980s, for good reasons, but that the Warrington bombings & similar atrocities turned the tide. Even the most hardcore pro-IRA groups supported the peace process.

When #NigelFarage left #UKIP he started to re-invent himself. He's not talking about immigration any more. He's talking about being the saviour of democracy, and leaving UKIP to be the extremists. He's trying to attract a more moderate voter. The polls seem to show this working
I wonder, if he does well if the #EuropeanElections2019 and the #Brexit mess in Parliament continues, it might give some #ERG members the confidence to cross the floor. Will they have confidence that they can re-elected on a #BrexitParty ticket.
That would then likely cause a general election as the government would not be able to pass anything. The #Conservatives would not have time to sort out a new leader so #TheresaMay could end up leading them into it. They could get slaughtered.

So, where are we today? Overall I would say that the #Labour #Corbyn strategy is working well, and is likely to see Jez in No. 10 at some point in the next year or just over a year.
The #Conservatives are experiencing what looks to me rather like damage ERM crisis did to them in autumn 1992. Have lost 13 points (!) with @YouGov in just six weeks. Bear in mind that experience shows that such falls get worse for some time - could be headed v low.
The moment MV3 failed to pass was a clarifying one, and therefore welcome here - had been wondering for years what was keeping the CON score so high. It was #Brexit. We're now at 50/50 whether it even happens. They will struggle to recover.
