2/ I've copiously read several news stories where @PoliceNG PPRO, @frankmbablog, quoting IGP M. Adamu, says the much-awaited DECENTRALISATION of Nig's CENTRIFUGAL Policing System via #CommunityPolicing is set. But the recruited Special Constables won't be PAID SALARIES. REALLY?
3/ It's glaring, even to the blind, paid and unpaid sycophants of the @MBuhari-led administration that since 2015, Nigeria's broken internal security architecture has worsened. @MBuhari is SHOCKED and @NGRSenate & @HouseNGR are GLOATING, over the steep rise in MASS KIlLINGS.
This morning’s media open house highlighted the strides we have made as a department and the obstacles we have overcome. To recap, I’d like to point out the #LASD’S achievements this year. 1st, violent crimes across @CountyofLA are down 15.15%. #SheriffV
2nd ICE transfers are down 53%, keeping true to my campaign promise that I would remove the ICE agents from our facilities. Jail violence has also decreased, despite the rise in in our inmate population.
3rd recruitment is up, a total 65% increase over the previous 4 year average. As Captain McBride stated, we achieved this by changing our culture. We seek qualified candidates but no longer treat them like criminals; a practice which previously dissuaded most from applying.
My team and I have been working on a bill for about a year. We’ve kept it quiet but I like to call it the “Alderman-Ramirez Criminal Justice Act” or #ARCJA. It will be a comprehensive Criminal Justice Reform package that will include at minimum the following and @KamalaHarris...
