On debt ceiling deal, @GovChristie said @RonDeSantis is a critic “because he never had to compromise. He was in the Freedom Caucus in House and just said ‘Hell, yes!’ or ‘Hell, no!’ And as governor he had a GOP legislature that did what he told them to.”

Asked what he’s learned since the last time he ran, @GovChristie says “motion isn’t progress. Not everything you do is helping make you more electable.”

Says that he needs to do even more town halls. Adds that in 2016 “I played a conventional game, just talked about myself….

#NHPolitics #FITN #Corruption #NHCourts #NHPD #NHAG office. 9 years before Father Gordon MacRae was framed by a corrupt police officer, NH Courts KNEW the police officer was corrupt. 28 years after MacRae convicted, he's still in prison and James F McLaughlin (PD) is free. WHY?
@nancywestnews The point is that you can't determine if anyone is guilty or innocent in the courts in New Hampshire if the people running the investigations are corrupt. And that is the problem. New Hampshire police, prosecutors, victims advocates are corrupt because $ rules them
@GovChrisSununu The Governor of New Hampshire's job now and forever is to ensure that the constitutional rights of its citizens are protected and that the people in positions of authority in courts, PD, SC etc follow the laws. They do not. And hence Laurie List, YDC abuse,MacRae.

1/n: William Loeb was a child molester. After decades of silence, his stepdaughter, Nackey Scagliotti, has gone on the record about the abuse she and her late half-sister, Edith Tomasko, experienced long ago. #MeToo #nhpoli #fitn unionleader.com/news/stepdaugh…
2/n: William Loeb has been dead for a long time, but this kind of disclosure still matters. It may empower others to finally share past abuse and, perhaps, gain some closure. It’s also important to anyone who cares about a full, accurate account of history.
3/n: Scagliotti and her nephew, Cody DuBuc, who is also quoted in this story, are incredibly brave for sharing this information, as well as the longterm impacts the abuse had on both women.

I have been saying this for many moons on myriad media. #alliteration

When it comes to #iacaucus, 40+ states agree Iowa should not be #FITN. Ask them who SHOULD be first, and suddenly that unity evaporates.
Now, to be fair, Perez did say (paraphrasing here), "'This is how we've always done it' isn't alone a reason to keep doing it." But that's still not the same as offering or advocating for a clear alternative.

#iacaucus #FITN
To my original point, I think of this @HamiltonMusical lyric:

"Meanwhile, Congress is fighting over where to put the capital ...
(the company screams, presumably each with a different suggestion) ...
It isn’t pretty."

Cotton on speculation around a potential 2024 run:

"I expect I'll be back to New Hampshire again in the future," Cotton told Insider. "But for right now, especially with 15 days until this election ... we are focused 100% on these elections coming up."

Cotton was campaigning for candidates down 9 and 15 points in the RCP avg, but he had the benefit of getting to meet some of the NH GOP movers & shakers who can fundraise, host events & even future campaign staff in their homes.

A single gunshot was fired through a window of a clearly marked Republican National Committee office in Mohave County, Arizona Thursday night, @RNC officials confirm to @CBSNews.

Five or six volunteers with the GOP were inside hosting a virtual event -- no one is hurt.
This is not the first time campaign volunteers have been targeted.

In February, a New Hampshire man was arrested following the assault of a 15-year-old Trump supporter and 2 adults at a polling site during the #FITN primary.
UPDATE: Local police are now investigating an “aggravated assault and criminal damage” after an “unknown object” was thrown through the Republican Party field office window.

The Republican National Committee initially believed it was a gunshot.

Going to be VERY interesting to see who goes to NV, who goes to SC, and who goes to ST states between NH and NV. You’re kind of handcuffed to go to NH after IA given the short runway and #FITN etc. but there’s some more flexibility for the rest of the month.
Before we suspended the campaign, we had some very fun strategy and scheduling meetings about this very topic!
IIRC, our initial plan was to hit SC/ST states over Presidents’ Day weekend then land in NV by Tuesday. The logistics of getting x-country played a big role — once you get to NV, you kind of want to stay relatively west.

So: the Iowa Caucus is going to be an absolute bonkers trainwreck that will make 2016 look like a mild row at the summer camp.
That's me, far left, tonight. @goetz_hal and @johndeeth put on a good training, but it leaves me deeply pessimistic.
@goetz_hal @johndeeth The @iowademocrats and folks like Hal and John are doing everything they can within the constraints they've been handed, but we're deep into, or beyond, 'one legged man in an ass kicking contest' territory here.

As the #DemocraticDebate is happening, let me say a few words about @ewarren ... yes - I’m sorry to say - a thread. 1/
I supported Bernie Sanders in 2016. Like, really, really supported ... as in, was a Bernie delegate at the DNC in Philadelphia. 2/
Living in NH, we don’t have to seek out primary participation. For better and/or for worse, it comes to us.

I went into this election cycle with an open mind. Maybe slightly predisposed to Bernie, but willing to consider all candidates whose values mostly align with mine. 3/

Why I'm Voting for @KamalaHarris in the #fitn NH Primary.

(Thread.) #nhpolitics
Living in the first-in-the-nation primary state, we have a responsibility to learn about presidential candidates early and up close, and to make a decision that will best help that candidate keep moving through the nomination process.
This time around, that responsibility feels overwhelming. When the next president takes the oath of office, she’ll be overseeing a multi-layered national crisis left by her predecessor.
