[Video 2] Spotted at 3:30pm: #Broward SOE staffers moving significant number boxes labeled “early voting” onto pallets and into another room. As I was recording, another SOE employee came & intentionally blocked my camera. I moved over his shoulder for clear shot. #FloridaRecount
Update: Dr. Snipes ordered all of the page 1s of Early Voting ballots counted again to cross check the new count with the count marked on each box, the goal being to see if that would turn up any of the 2040 missing ballots. Didn’t tell Canvassing Board or observers in advance.
Only #Broward SOE staff handling page recount. A BSO deputy told me he observed some & noticed counting machines flawed. Ex: one batch of page 1s might result in a count of 240 and then same batch is re-run to get count of 220 ballots. Not consistent. As of 7pm haven’t heard more

3/"the state’s governor. No such measure was ordered in the governor’s race, where former congressman Ron DeSantis (R) held an edge over Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D). Palm Beach County’s election supervisor said less than an hour before the 3 p.m. deadline that they would

🚨 Miami Dade #FloridaRecount results, per Christina White, Sup of Elections:
Machine recount of 813,000+ ballots = 96 fewer ballots than on Election Day (.01% variance )
“There is always a change ... because of the human factor”
@WPLGLocal10
White credits staff for making Miami Dade recount issue-free and on-time- “It does feel good to make our county shine in the process...”
The 24-hour-a-day operation began with an all-nighter reading 15K vote-by-mail ballots that came in on Election Day.
@WPLGLocal10
Attention now turns to the imminent hand count...waiting for that order from Sec of State (on or after 3pm state machine-count deadline)
Miami Dade has already separated, in sealed bins, the under- and over-votes for that... Will start with Senate race, than Ag race.

They’re Trying To Stop The Count — Again! gregpalast.com/theyre-trying-… #FloridaRecount #FloridaRecount2018 #Florida
My very first US investigative report was published by Salon in 2000 about the theft of the vote in #Florida. Fast-forward to 2018 and the photos are nearly identical — GOP bullies trying to stop the vote count. gregpalast.com/floridas-flawe…
This week in #Florida, my camera crew captured menacing crowds supporting the GOP chanting ‘Stop the count’—the exact phrase the GOP chanted in 2000. And in 2018, Democratic demonstrators are chanting ‘Count all the votes'—the exact same (failed) chant from 2000. #FloridaRecount

THREAD: Much punditry around the #FloridaRecount but not much in the way of education regarding what is, in fact, happening and is supposed to happen under the law.

After 14 hours working the recount in my county, I want to get a few things straight. Let's dig in.

1/
The initial "recount" is mandated by law if any contest is within .50%. Most know this. But what they don't know if how this "machine recount" works. Across the state VOLUNTEER poll workers are sitting in front of voting machines simply re-feeding the ballots. That is it.

2/
Fraud? No chance. They are forbidden from having anything aside from a red pen. They cannot do anything but feed the machines. It looks and sounds like the video slots at a cheap casino. One worker even said, "When do I get my coupon for the free buffet?"
