Just published September home builder survey results (sales, prices, costs, communities, etc.). Big themes: 1) Supply chain, supply chain, supply chain. 2) Monthly price hikes no longer the norm. 3) Some of the hottest markets sounding toppy. Market commentary to follow…
#Austin builder: “No end in sight for labor & material issues. Told by logistics guy last week that his company believes it will take at least a year to get the supply chain back to working.”
#Austin builder: “Availability of windows has limited closings this year & availability of appliances has caused closings to slide to a later month. Availability of paint is stressing Q4 closings & causing even more bunching toward late in the year.”

Update on #ContactTracing for #COVID19 - a thread. Early signs of success from SF Bay Area. Many local counties are approaching goal of contacting 90% of the region’s positive cases, even as coronavirus cases spike across the state. @mikereidmd @SF_DPH sfchronicle.com/health/article…
2. San Francisco @SF_DPH data:
• % of Cases Reached for #ContactTracing over Prior Two Weeks – currently 82%, target 90+%
• % of Named Contacts Reached for Contact Tracing over the Prior Two Weeks – currently 85%, target 90+%
data.sfgov.org/stories/s/epem…
3. OTOH, lack of transparency makes #ContactTracing success hard to measure. Impossible to know whether Bay Area’s two largest counties have been successful because their health officials refuse to reveal how many people they do reach, and how quickly. mercurynews.com/2020/06/29/is-…

1. I think @GovHawaii and local civil defense, military and public health authorities should consider whether we should prepare remote fever hospitals in each county to isolate infected people who can't safely home quarantine. Home isolation is going to difficult and may spread
2. the virus.

We need to isolate the infected away from our hospitals to avoid crashing that system. Concentrate the sick to save resources. I would lock down all nursing homes at a minimum check the temperatures of anyone entering.
3. We need to begin taking temperatures everywhere and we need a place to isolate those who hit and have any symptoms. Ones without symptoms could be sent home to self isolate. But certainly not allowed to enter the building.
