While we wait for the vote in the US House of Representatives on Articles of Impeachment against Donald J. Trump, I think it is worth taking some time to remember all the hard work that got us to this historic moment. A personal journey of 2019.... #ImpeachmentDay
Accountability began with the #BlueWave2018 in November 2018, where people all over the country said ENOUGH! Voters turned out in massive numbers to give a majority to the @HouseDemocrats. This was no fluke, but a MASSIVE effort by citizens all over America.
Then the real crazy started, with new offenses every day and a long gov't shutdown driven by Trump's racism and spite. It is here where Trump made his first major attempt to take away the power of the purse away from Congress with his #FakeNationalEmergency.

🇺🇸 It’s time. Democracy delayed is Democracy denied. Calling our Representatives in Congress at 202-224-3121. #ImpeachmentInquiry #ImpeachDonaldTrump

We should also each make a phone call to @RepJerryNadler who can begin the impeachment inquiry on his own as Chair of the @HouseJudiciary.

2/
Why?
There already is a long list of his impeachable offenses. Just last week he was dangling a pardon before Michael Flynn. Last night he was on television saying he would meet with and take help and opposition research from a foreign government without informing the FBI.

Obstruction, what did Trump do?
SC Report summary:

Flynn lied to FBI. Trump asked Comey to let it go. Comey did not.

Tried to get K.T. McFarland to draft a letter to indicate that Trump had not told Flynn to talk about sanctions with Russians. McFarland refused.
Instructed WH lawyer to tell Sessions not to recuse from Russian investigation. When Sessions recused anyway, Trump said he needed an AG who would protect him. (Now he has Barr).

Asked Sessions to "un recuse" to that end.
reached out to Intel. Dept. heads asking them to dispel the notion that Trump was connected to Russian interference.

Called Comey directly twice asking he do the same, despite advice from WH lawyer not to do that.

1-It's important to note that before Nixon resigned the GOP weren't too happy @ him being investigated for the break-in, or @ courting impeachment, but once the hearings were conducted one by one they came around, until finally a group of them went to Nixon and told him that it
2-was imminent. That's what got him to resign. Times are surely different these days, but the Nixon hearings were televised and the sentiment in America gradually changed in favor of Nixon being removed.
3-Like it or not, we have to give this a chance-maybe if enough public sentiment shifts during these hearings, the GOP Sen will be FORCED by constituent pressure to oust Trump with the Dems. #ImpeachDonaldTrump #RepublicansForImpeachment

2-For the sake of the First Amendment alone, we have to encourage these planned, subpoenaed hearings in Congress now, encourage what amounts to the Impeachment process unfolding. #FreePress #TuesdayMotivation

“it is a misreading of the Constitution for any member to assert that for a member to vote for an article of impeachment means that that member must be convinced that the President should be removed from office. The Constitution doesn't say that.” – Rep Barbara Jordan, 7/25/1974
