Gulbenkian travelled extensively and lived in a number of cities including Istanbul, London, Paris and Lisbon. Throughout his life, Gulbenkian was involved with many philanthropic activities including the establishment of schools, hospitals, and churches.

He required that proceeds from his 5% share of profits from oil should go to Armenian families. He also demanded that 5% of his workers in his oil production for the Iraq Petroleum Company should be of Armenian descent.

İstanbul'da 10 Tem. 1894 günü saat 12.24'te Marmara Denizi İzmit açıklarında ve tahminen 7.0 büyüklüğünde kent hafızasında derin izler bırakan bir deprem olmuştu.

Taksim Atatürk Kitaplığı'ndaki bu albüm depremde oluşan hasarı tespit için hazırlanmış.+

1894 Depremi'nde İstanbul ile birlikte Adalar, Sapanca, Yalova, Çınarcık, Gölcük ve Adapazarı gibi doğu Marmara yerleşimleri de hasar gördü ve 1.349 kişi öldü. İstanbul’da Tarihi Yarımada'da Kapalıçarşı başta olmak üzere çok sayıda bina yıkıldı ya da ağır hasar aldı.

Statement: On 22 December, 4 luxury vehicles and a hardware store belonging to AKP member were burned in Erdemli district of Mersin, rendering them unusable.

Statement: On December 21, a cafe occupied by the guards of the Ministry of Interior in Tuzla district of Istanbul was targeted with hand-made explosives. Two of the guards were injured in the action, and the cafe was badly damaged.

In #Syria and #Iraq, the autonomous Kurdish regions were attacked by #NATO member #Turkey over the weekend. The government stated that this was a retaliation to the attack in #Istanbul, for which the Turkish government blames Kurdish militias.

A possible military offensive into these areas had been in the works for months. According to experts, the bomb attack now provided the pretext for a military assault on these regions and the seizure of Kurdish areas.

Last night rumours swept #Ukraine that the army had liberated multiple settlements on the south/east bank in #Kherson, fanned by Govt officials commenting on #Oleshky.

But so far they remain just rumours with no hard evidence.

Here's the British Intel update which explains why #Henichesk was chosen by #Russia as its 'capital' of #Kherson, having lost the real regional centre last week.
