‼️ BREAKING:
Last week, @EpochTimes was contacted by two NBC reporters who posed a series of highly inappropriate questions about the religious beliefs of our staff.

Here is our open letter response. theepochtimes.com/our-response-t…
The NBC reporters questioned the religious beliefs of some of our @EpochTimes staff members, sought to discredit their beliefs, attacked our journalism based on personal opinion rather than objective analysis, and even sought out information on the personal lives of our staff.
Unfortunately, the bane of #Journalism today is the all-too-common practice of writing news to conform to a pre-existing narrative or agenda. The best journalism of the past had the truth as its standard, not political advantage.

We have a First Amendment for a reason, and it doesn't say unless it's embarrassing to the U.S. government, unless Hillary Clinton doesn't like it, unless it makes it difficult for the State Department to play the games it plays. soundcloud.com/user-835943867… #Assange #EspionageAct
The point is we are government of the people, by the people, for the people. It's not their information. It's ours. And all #Assange did was give us our information which our own government was wrongly and illegally concealing from us. soundcloud.com/user-835943867… #EspionageAct

#Assange is not a spy — they sell secrets and keep secrets — he exposed truths the U.S. government concealed from We the People. And where are the NY Times and Amazon Post? They should turn in the prizes they got for Assange’s courage and work. gregpalast.com/wikileaks-juli…

Gawker lost legally, but it had a dramatic impact on today’s media environment and in some sense won culturally. It was a precursor to a certain style of woke Brooklyn journalism, which was later inflated by capital markets and now feels derivative (eg Daily Beast). /1
Gawker also presaged a certain style of anti-establishment journalism, which migrated to the populist right and morphed into insurgent citizen-journalism. @Cernovich in 2014-2017 could be seen as a descendent. For all its faults, Gawker’s chip on the shoulder seemed genuine. /2
There’s more to say on these thing (including the later Vekselberg investment which may have been a precursor to Russian meddling?). Only mentioning this because I haven’t seen Gawker’s influence acknowledged in #media #journalism & it may help us understand today’s media realm.

#Breaking #news @vicenews reporter @elspethreeve along with a film crew have broken into The house of #8chan's creator.

REAL #Journalism IS DEAD

Were they searching for #qanon's identity?

Correction, they broke into the "current owner's" of 8Chan.
The "creator" was Frederick Brennan.

This is a VERY LONG thread about #journalism #ethics #bias #transphobia #islamophobia and newsroom culture Please stick with it, there are some pretty alarming allegations coming up.

@thetimes @pressgazette @theguardian @PrivateEyeNews @jjohnjewell @sambrook @stevenjbarnett @ladaprice @docrussjackson @BrianCathcart There was another trans court case last week – one that is still ongoing – but it has yet to make any newspaper in England or Scotland. Which is strange because it involves possibly the most famous newspaper in the world.

Dems have lost control of the executive branch and pretty much the judicial branch. They hold half of the legislative - and they're trying to make it work as if it were also the other two.
This is also why they're trying to prop up the so-called "Fourth Estate" (#journalism, that is) as a new fourth branch of government - because it's one they will always control
Or, rather, it's one they will always control as long as no one gets in the way of #siliconcensorship - that is, silencing effective voices on the right who publish news, information and commentary via social media.

So far, no one has.

On Wednesday there will be a parade of 40 historic trams through the centre of Brussels, to mark the 150th anniversary of the city getting its first ones 😍🚃 thebulletin.be/five-day-party…
There’s definitely a disproportionate number of Brits waiting for these trams 🚃

Wikileaks Document : a “Secret US Base on the Moon” collective-evolution.com/2019/04/15/wik… - this thread, my pinned tweet and a few other threads go over Moon symbolism and "base on the" - not talking about the literal moon. #Qanon #MoonLanding #Moon #Symbolism #Comms #Wikileaks
Note the connection in that last tweet regarding moon and Russia "A document published by Wikileaks clearly implies that the U.S.A. had a "secret" base on the Moon that was destroyed by Russia." - thread connects a few dots #Qanon #Russia #China #CIA
Given the lizard person on this site next to a pro #Qanon symbol it's prolly safe to assume this is a tinfoil psyop exopolitics.org/did-the-ussr-d… but that doesn't mean it can't be useful for dissecting #Symbolism #Comms So what happened in 1977? "on the moon" #Psyop #CIA #MKUltra

#Thread 1/ Today's a day when I think a lot of people are going to be discussing and critiquing #journalism Since I've been teaching the subject for quite some time now, here's some things I tell my students about their relationships to public officials.
2/ The first rule of #journalism, even in the @spj_tweets code of ethics, is to "seek truth and report it." Sources of truth don't always want it shared. Everyone wants to look good, and when people have chosen to do bad things, they don't want you to expose them.
3/ A side #ProTip for newsmakers: The best way to avoid unfavorable coverage is to not do bad things. It's not 100%, but it works a lot better than other shenanigans you try.

Excerpt:

"The so-called “Protocol” forced on #Assange without his consent has no legal legitimacy whatsoever, and never applied to the @WikiLeaks Twitter account, which Assange has not been able to access for over a year."
"This is thanks to @Lenin Moreno’s unilateral decision to sever Assange's connection with the outside world, including internet access. Nonetheless, #Moreno centers his accusations on the WikiLeaks’ Twitter account, for merely observing the unfolding #INAPapers scandal."

I can count instances of unbiased reporting about #QAnon on one hand. Unhinged #MSM smear pieces masquerading as "#journalism" flourish in the vacuum of honesty, however.

#GreatAwakening is about making USA better for ALL.

#WeAreTheNewsNow #FactsMatter #WakeUpAmerica #WWG1WGA
The hallmark of #MSM smear pieces is trying to assert #QAnon's invalidity, right from the opening paragraph. Most of the hit pieces attempt to employ this tactic.

This one is no exception.
Right from the jump, they get things astronomically wrong.

While Q did start on 4chan, it became apparent that that forum was not secure, so the operation moved to another uncensored platform, 8chan.

A terrific discussion about environmental journalism today with @cynthiabarnett @LukeRunyon @noahgshannon @AbrahmL, moderated by @gburton. Luke joked at the beginning that the panel was probably, from left to right, 'moving from most optimistic to most pessimistic.' #Journalism
Lots of insightful points in the conversation, which ranged from a discussion of optimism/pessimism in reporting on climate change to the idea of a board game designed around managing water. Going to share a few of their comments.
.@cynthiabarnett praised @jfleck: "When I’ve done reporting on water in New Mexico, I’m always amazed at the number of people who talk about John Fleck as someone who helped change the ethos of the Albuquerque community, which now uses half the water that it used in the mid-90s."

A friend's Facebook comment last night: "We’ve honest to God got to unite as journalists to halt this continued push toward having non-answering PIO’s doing all the answering for our elected officials and high ranking bureaucrats" #Florida #journalism #MakeThemTalk
Just this week a news release went out about 300 dead turtles along the St. Johns River system, the FWC scientists weren't made available and the UF scientists studying the turtles couldn't be made available either
Two weeks ago, executives at DEP and water district refused to say whether board members were on or off the water board, and still haven't said who directed them removed from website. PIO couldn't provide any answers & none of the folks in the know could pick up phone & clarify
