Lagos belongs to Benin Empire not Yorubaland – Oba Akiolu

The dust has finally settled after years of controversies & heated arguments who the real owners of present day Lagos are, the whole of Western Nigeria and the East of the Niger down to the Nigerian south Atlantic Coast.
The Oba of Lagos, His Royal Highness, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has finally told the world via a historical narrative and background the real owners of Nigeria’s economic capital city of Lagos and parts of neigbouring Benin Republic.
Lagos, he said, belongs to the Great Benin Kingdom and has never been part of Yoruba land.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Lagos Monarch which was released from his palace.

A history lesson for the people of #Lagos, as taught by Oba Rilwan Akiolu, about how Lagos came to be. Pay attention!
Oba Akiolu: “Modern day Lagos was founded by Prince Ado, the son of the Oba of Benin, Prince Ado was the first Oba of Lagos, the son of the Bini King, Prince Ado, named the town Eko until the Portuguese explorer Ruy de Segueira changed the Maritime town to Lagos.”
Read the FULL statement of Oba Akiolu here ⬇️. No one should argue, ever again, that the Edo people founded Lagos. So when I am told, by SOME so-called Lagosians, to “go back to Edo State”, because I support @PeterObi, my soon-to-be president, y’all know where to go! 🖕🏾😂

"HISTORY of the term "No Man's Land" tag on LAGOS".
SOURCE: Separatist Agitations in Nigeria since 1914,pg 569
A THREAD from the excerpt below 👇

At the same I953 conference, Nigerian delegates again became painfully aware of the
serious political differences which tended to mar the evolution of harmony between various sections. The controversy over Lagos, Nigeria's capital and leading commercial centre, caused more bitterness in I953 than it had in 1950. During the 1950 and 1953 conferences which
discussed this issue, delegates from the Eastern Region made it clear that they regarded Lagos as a 'no-man's land'.
The Western delegates, however, regarded Lagos as a Yorùbá town which they wanted to administer on their own terms. During the 1950 General Conference, the

Recommended Smartphone Charging Habits
- Avoid charging your phone overnight. When your phone remains at full charge for a prolonged period of time, it can affect your battery's health. Adaptive charging is recommended if you do need to charge your phone overnight, that's if your phone supports it....
If not, charge your phone during the day, or whenever you can unplug your charger when your battery is full.

In 2019, I invested in a property that has now appreciated by almost £40,000 (N26M) in just 2 years. Currently, I am in talks with a very good friend of mine about buying another rental property (a flat) worth £175,000 in an area populated by students.
For upwardly mobile professionals, real estate is generally a great investment option. It can help generate passive income on a yearly basis. It can also be a fantastic long-term investment if you buy in a great location and the value increases overtime like mine has done.
Investing in real estate can help you build wealth. You can make profit through rental income (people will always need a place to live) and appreciation of the value of the property.
