Wondering if other airlines will follow suit, and make these public announcements. This puts huge downward price pressure on Boeing's stock. I wonder if other airlines will follow suit, and if the market has priced in cancellation/reduction of existing orders.
Boeing will definitely be racing to make sure all of this is done behind closed-doors and handshakes. I'm wondering if this already happened with Gurada, and maybe this is just posturing after they didn't get the discount they wanted

* Airframe problem. They wanted to use the 737 airframe for economic reasons, but needed more ground clearance with bigger engines.The 737 design can't be practically modified to have taller main landing gear. The solution was to mount them higher & more forward.

#Ethiopia: @PMEthiopia indicates there has been a plane crash involving @flyethiopian "Boeing 737 on regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning." The office extended it’s condolences to the families who lost their lives. But, there is no corresponding info as of yet.
Update: FanaBC confirms the news. "Ethiopian airline Boeing 337 flight from Addis Abeba to Nairobi crashed," the headline says. The news provides no further detail other than the quote from the PM office

Update: It's confirmed. The aircraft B-737-800MAX with registration number ET- AVJ took off at 08:38 am local time from AA, Bole Intl Airport & lost contact at 08:44am. It crashed around Bishoftu. It has 149 passengers & 8 crew members. fanabc.com/english/2019/0… (Pic: Profile).

Menurut mbaknya yg udah dimuat jg di cnn indo kemarin lusa naik pesawat JT33 yg di klaim sama dengan JT610 yg kecelakaan. Usut punya usut sepertinya tail numbernya berbeda.
Mencari tau lebih lanjut di wikipedia. Tail number ini semacam no registrasinya pesawat / nomor pengenal lah yg membedakan pesawat gitu. (Koreksi jika salah)
Kami turut berduka atas musibah yang menimpa penumpang Lion Air #JT610. Tapi kami juga dibuat geram oleh sejumlah media yang lagi-lagi membuat berita yang kacau. Sebelum makin ngawur, kami ingin menyerukan beberapa hal, agar kita tidak lagi menuang minyak dalam kobaran api.
Beberapa media sudah mulai membicarakan soal firasat, membedah akun media sosial korban #JT610, dan hal-hal yang bersifat dramatis untuk memikat perhatian publik. Padahal publik perlu informasi yang lebih penting dari itu.
