Let me build upon this in the light of the murder of six Fulani kids in Oba: bit.ly/3bjFxkp

Each time a new militia comes up, people tend to support them because they think that what the militia are doing aligns with what they agree with.
A very recent example is when #BokoHaram started. A lot of Northerners tacitly supported them because the group's teachings aligned with the Wahhabi Islam that is prevalent in Northern #Nigeria, and so they felt that Boko Haram was something for them.
Of course, #BokoHaram didn't start by killing Muslims, and many Northerners saw the initial victims as "the enemy".

When "the enemy" is being killed by the militia that is "on your side", you either give overt support, or you become complicit by not saying anything.

Let's talk briefly about the law of unintended consequences.

According to Friedrich Hayek, the law of unintended consequences is that actions of people, and especially of governments, always have effects that are unanticipated or "unintended."
This law of unintended consequences is one of the building blocks of economics.

A simpler analogy for my lazy generation is in #GameOfThrones Season 5 when Cersei gave the High Sparrow power hoping that he would use that power to get her perceived enemies off her back.
He did what she wanted, but quickly turned the tables on her and had her put away.

Eventually, the only way she could get out of his grip was to stroll from one end of town to the other in her birthday suit.

Now we know why a few days ago, @GarShehu was trying to undermine @nigerianstat and the statistician general.

He had clearly seen the unemployment figures, and knew the 43% disaster that was en route, hence the very disgusting behaviour...
But there's another aspect to this nonsense the man tried to pull: asides undermining the integrity of the one organisation that is VERY important for us to climb out of our economic morass, Mr. Shehu's behaviour offered us an insight to how the current government solves problems
Rather than trying to understand the issues, what these characters do is to obfuscate, and try to divert attention.

Mr. Shehu's claim of 12 million people employed by rice alone does not stand up to any scrutiny whatsoever, but he made it anyway.

2018 began with some trepidation as #Nigeria's economy failed to take off, and familiar sounds of discontent began to surface.

In the political space, questions mounted about whether the coalition that brought @MBuhari to power 3 years earlier would hold firm.

It didn't.
Meanwhile, the year, 2018, would go down as the year when @AsoRock's claims about having a lid on security issues were revealed to be mostly empty.
The year began with an escalation of #PastoralConflict, with tit-for-tat killings across 5 states, and a tepid reaction from @AsoRock.

This culminated in the unsightly scenario of one of #Nigeria's most prominent citizens asking his tribesmen to defend themselves.

"Let anybody come and confront me publicly in the National Assembly. What have they been doing? Some of them have been there for 10 years. What have they been doing?"  -  @MBuhari, 22/5/18
Today while his VP was in #Benue attending the funerals on a number of our countrymen who were killed by suspected herdsmen in the ongoing #PastoralConflict, our President was busy making nonsense of @ProfOsinbajo's efforts by running his mouth in the villa at a campaign event.
While it is common knowledge that Buhari doesn't really care about the average Nigerian, and is more concerned with returning to the Villa next year, it boggles the mind that the man keeps undermining those who could have worked with him to actually give him a decent legacy.
