I wrote about this on Medium. IMO, the US government failed us re: the 2016 election & its aftermath. 1/
There is a new section about #RealityWinner. I encourage @POTUS to #PardonRealityWinner now & to declassify more information about the 2016 election. 3/

#RealityWinner is home but not free. Who else has a restricted travel area, 10 pm curfew, and has to report any and all interviews & media projects???
Who else has to do a monthly report detailing every aspect of their life and submitting bank statements?
#RealityWinner
Who else has to submit to random drug tests and continued threats by a probation officer to reject her living arrangement?
You have no idea how torturous this "Supervised Release" is for a person who has the threat of prison over her head.
Home but not free.

“As a member of President Richard M. Nixon’s Committee to Re-Elect the President, better known as CREEP, Stone helped recruit a young operative to spy on a group of Quakers who had set up a peace vigil in front of the Nixon White House.” 1/ washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/…

@Comey -- In May 2018 Democratic Senators sent complaints that Trump had used Bolton to remove the leaders of the federal pandemic response system.

Soon forgotten.

Today we know that the US had a top-tier system. Degraded by Trump to the Worst in the World.

Ebola stayed away.

SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19 makes up for it.

The federal system had been implemented originally, very basically in 1955. A gift from Eisenhower's SEATO alliance, based on fighting plague & dengue.

What Trump had Bolton eliminate:
-- The top manager, Adm. Riemer
-- Non-military staff
-- Liaison positions to Nat'l Guard and Agencies
Together with:
-- Border quarantine
-- Nat'l Tracking Corps
-- Antivirals/antibiotics
-- Positive pressure PPE ImageImageImageImage

@davidhogg111 -- Go on offense = risk being a target for threats, possible vendetta actions

For example, threats still cover up a gross Trump misfeasance 2018 - 2020.

He feared bad press if Ebola made the jump.

So he dumped federal pandemic response on the hapless states.
Ebola never got here. SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19 makes up for its absence.

The system Trump had John Bolton destroy had been implemented originally, very basically in 1955. A gift from Eisenhower's SEATO alliance.

Trump may have cheated his way to victory. Remember how he objected to the recount & most of it was shut down & how the polls predicted he’d lose in a landslide? Remember the leaked exit polls indicating he was toast & the subsequent teeny margins right where he needed them? 1/
Remember the info leaked by #RealityWinner & how she was locked up for it? 2/
I don’t know that cheating changed the result in 2016. What I do know is that our government didn’t look to find out - or if it did look, it kept it classified. A journalist in a position to elicit a response should ask the FBI if it looked. 3/ jennycohn1.medium.com/why-have-so-ma…

I’m upset w/ both moderate & progressive Democrats. Neither is trying to shine a light on Trump’s suspicious ascent to power in 2016. Neither is seeking declassification of info re the 2016 election. 1/
Neither is calling upon @POTUS to pardon #RealityWinner. 2/
Neither is prioritizing election security despite the GOP winning 27 out of 27 House races that were rated as tossups before the 2020 election. 3/

Being at #DanielHale's sentencing last week and seeing no camera crews from local or national media outlets wait outside is a sobering reminder how much the reporting landscape has changed.
It was similar situation at #RealityWinner's pre-trial hearings. That is the reason my team and I took on a second independent documentary project. We felt that someone needed to witness and film the proceedings and treatment of Reality, which was much harsher than we expected.
The other journalists who showed up consistently for #RealityWinner's pre-trial hearings were also independents like @tkbarnes and @kgosztola, as well as a few local news reporters.

THREAD: Let's compare and contrast how General Petraeus and Reality Winner, both convicted of leaking classified information to the press, were treated by our criminal justice system. We'll examine the content of their leaks, the potential damage to our national security of /1
the leaks, their motives, how their cases were prosecuted and their sentencing.
General Petraeus leaked eight binders full of highly classified materials that he had illegally retained from when he was the top military commander in Afghanistan. When questioned by the FBI /2
about the binders he lied to them, a crime for which he was not prosecuted. He turned the binders over to a woman with whom he was having an illicit affair at the time. According to prosecutors the binders contained the names of covert operatives, /3

Today is #NationalWhistleblowerDay. Please support #nationalsecurity #whistleblowers who have made some of the most important disclosures in the history of the United States, and have suffered tremendous consequences.
By definition whistleblowers reveal information in the public interest. They expose government misconduct, such as information about unconstitutional mass surveillance, torture, the secret drone war, foreign election interference, discrimination, civil and human rights abuses.

Sharing how systems discriminate against people out of prison to keep them down. Last week I took #RealityLeighWinner to get her driver's license at the TX DMV.
She needed 2 forms of ID, which she had. They also required 2 forms of proof of address, which she didn't have.
2...
I was there & had to complete an affidavit for her. I had to have 2 forms of proof of an address, even though they had my ID/Driver's license.
Luckily, we were able to give them documents that satisfied them.
Had I not been there, #RealityWinner would've been denied.
3...
They system has built in rules that keep people already kicked down to stay powerless and hopeless.
I stead of helping to build them back, they make it hard for them to succeed.
And, they treated her like an inmate. I'm so angry.

Dear @julianbarnes: I am concerned that the "most secure election ever" narrative has eclipsed your crucial reporting from Oct. 2020. If Russians got inside our election system again, that is NOT secure. Even if they did not pull the trigger this time, what about 2022 & 2024?! 1/
An update to your story wld be really important. Because of the Big Lie, everyone, including the Ds, has gone to sleep on election security. They have not even reintroduced the #SAFEAct to require robust manual election audits of ALL federal races, not just what Rs choose. 2/
Thank you for your important work. #ProtectOurVotes #SAFEAct 3/

The FBI’s & DHS’s policy was to NOT tell the public, states, or Congress of county & vendor election-system breaches. They let counties & vendors decide whether to disclose. It was #RealityWinner who exposed this dangerous policy. Ds AND Rs in the Senate criticized the policy. 1/
The FBI later changed its policy to notify states (though not the public or Congress) of election system breaches. They did it due to the outrage over their concealment of breaches. Counties and vendors were not voluntarily coming forward to warn that they had been breached. 2/
The change in policy would not have happened without #RealityWinner. But the policy is still dangerous bc it does not require that the FBI or DHS notify Congress or the public of county or state breaches. That is still up to the election offices. 3/

@CPetersen_CS @FullFrontalSamB @iamsambee To form an opinion you shld take into account all of the facts. She exposed the truth as there was no IG for her to report to at the time. Fox on all stations & things swept under the rug. Charged under the antiquated Espionage Act that was designed to weed out spies.

@CPetersen_CS @FullFrontalSamB @iamsambee But wait theres more! Document was kept classified even after it was public knowledge & being used in msm news reports, specifically so she cld not speak of it in her defense. 99% of defense subpeonas thrown out.

2020 Clemency stats are currently unavailable to the public. They should be available in 2021 as 2020 is closed out. I'm not sure if it's bc the USPA Office is so backlogged & cldn't keep up w/ stats or if it was intentionally left blank for some reason.
2/
USPA Office projected the percent of the total clemency caseload pending w/in the entire Office & anywhere in the clemency process, at less than or equal to 40% for 2020. That's compared to 2019's actual percentage of 22% & 13,955 cases.
