He refused.
I said he’d run as a “civil rights lawyer” and won w/ black votes.

~12 yrs ago, Republican, @BobMcDonnell, became VA’s next governor.
I asked him to help @naacp overturn the ban & pass a law restoring voting rights for all former inmates.
He agreed. We tried for years. We fell short. Still, he made it easier to get your voting rights restored.

Since the 2012 #SandyHook shooting there have been a quarter million gun-related deaths in the US with another 750k gun-related injuries.

I've always maintained that after #SandyHook America said guns mattered more than kids. 20 1st graders were murdered in their classroom & the US didn't pass a single law to stop it from ever happening again.
More than 7k kids have been shot & killed since.
