Va attentamente controllato, monitorato e all’occorrenza ridimensionato.

I got my Prius in 2004. The car cost $30,000 but over the 17 years I owned it, it saved me $35,000 in fuel costs (compared to my prior #auto)

I was a BIG fan. Now I'm a big Toyota critic

From Leader to Laggard
Toyota has sold ~5M globally. Sales peaked in 2010 at 500,000 units

For the last few years Toyota has been campaigning against EVs. Why? 1) Because it's far behind in the #tech; 2) It's working to promote hybrids

#disruption #ElectricVehicle #CES2023
I've gone from being a major fan of Toyota to a major critic

Toyota has chosen to be on the wrong side of history. EVs outsold hybrids for the first time in 2021

Toyota has gone from darling to villain for environmentalists

A long 🧵with some thoughts/comments on it 1/x
The first chapter provides a very good overview on the #semiconductor industry/value chain, elaborating also on important players/ market shares.

Basically, they could have used also the study by @snv_berlin / @JPKleinhans on that, but anyway, it is quite well analysed. 2/x
imho every journalist that want to cover a #semiconductor topic should easily be able to comment/edit on this section. If someone is new on this field, it is a very good initial read to understand the sector. 3/x

Some future gazing regarding #Brexit. Two possible scenarios for consideration, and under both, Brexit just doesn’t go away.
1.We get a deal this year. It's thin for goods, with the benefits broadly limited to zero tariffs, at least on paper if not always in practice (see rules of origin & #automotive), & largely non-existent for services.
This new FTA world comes with considerable new cost that sends some businesses to the wall, and new friction that will cause significant disruption in some places (see Kent), but not everywhere.

1 - Yes, we want to grow it! #UK #Automotive exports £1 billion engines to Turkey, twice as much as the entire North-American region and second only to the EU. British engines are assembled into passenger cars and CVs exported from Turkey to the UK and other European countries.
2 - In 2018, we imported more than 175,000 finished vehicles from Turkey, mainly cars and vans. In 2008, we were importing just over 65,000. Turkey ranked 5^ among the biggest export markets for UK cars.
3 - High level of integration was fuelled by favourable trading conditions of the EU-Turkey customs union. This agreement allows all industrial goods to be traded tariff-free, regardless of their origin, once in free circulation in the EU-Turkey customs area.

Don't believe that Blukip Mayhem & Co realise just HOW far adrift they have become from public opinion NOW! Of course, they could put ANY deal? Big IF? to a #peoplesvote, and test the will of the people to which they love SO much to defer? Democracy? Do they really believe in it?
Hard to escape the view that 'so called' UK Democracy has been completely hijacked by Blukip Mayhem & Co. There's NO mandate to trash our economy in the way now daily unfolding. It's totally risible to suggest that we'll go global from the self-inflicted wreckage of what we had.
Triple hit from #Brexodus; deferred, reduced or cancelled #BusinessInvestment and collapsing consumer #Confidence look likely to impact UK #GDP when #Q2 stats are known. Will Blukip Mayhem & Co take any notice? Or just keep racking up yet more debt, as UK #TaxTake recedes!
