In 2018 I created an ongoing #ClimateEd thread about the #ClimateCrisis.

Five years later, it's time for an update.✅

This #ClimateAction thread has a TON of info to help EVERYONE get #ClimateBrainy about the #science and facts of #climatechange.📊

Save, share and visit often! Image
Here's the old thread, which I'll no longer be updating:

It still contains MANY informative articles and links from reputable sources, so it's worth revisiting, even if some info isn't all that up-to-date.

The old tag was #Climate_Ed.

New: #ClimateEd👍
This NEW thread will contain PLENTY of top-tier posts from MANY solid #climatescience contributors, so come back regularly to see what's been added.

#Climatebrawl folks especially, as you can use these posts to #refute #deniers handily.

Don't argue with any trolls, however! 🧌 Image

The debt ceiling is a relic that no longer serves a purpose in guiding our economic policies. It's time to remove it and put the needs of all Americans first. #MMT #DebtCeilingRemoval
Refusing to raise the debt ceiling will only lead to chaos and economic turmoil. As per MMT, our government can never run out of money it issues its own currency. Let's remove this outdated constraint and invest in vital public services. #RemoveDebtCeiling #MMT
Removing the debt ceiling will allow us to allocate resources based on human needs rather than being held hostage to arbitrary financial metrics or political folly. It's time to take a more pragmatic and responsible approach to investing in our future. #MMT #PublicServices

How can we put this? Let’s just say that when you have an economic trading framework then trade operates in accordance with that framework. What that means is that a massive complex trading ecosystem has evolved over 40 years we have been part of the European trading union. 1/
40 years is a long time so a massive number over arching agreements have been put in place with an even bigger number of business contracts under that layer, all designed to help people trade with each other easily and on a common basis, hence common market. 2/
This structure has benefitted everyone involved. That’s why they did it in the first place. In fact that’s why trade agreements exist, to facilitate TRADE…. It’s not rocket science 3/

As I was going through papers and packing while trying to find a place to live, I came across something that my Father wrote many years ago.

WHEN IT LOOKS LIKE I HAVE FAILED

'LORD, are you trying to tell me something?
For .. failure does not mean I'm a failure;
It does mean ... I have not yet succeeded.
Failure does not mean ...I have accomplished nothing;
It does mean ...I HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING.
Failure does not mean ... I have been a fool;
It does mean ... I HAD ENOUGH FAITH TO EXPERIMENT..
Failure does not mean ...I don't have it;
It does not mean I am inferior.
It does mean...I am not perfect.
Failure does not mean...I've waisted my time.
It does mean ... I HAVE AN EXCUSE TO START OVER.
Failure does not mean ...I should give up;

It is difficult to explain in tweets but there is a clear path to fascism linked to the path of capitalism. And what we are seeing on the streets is evidence of that. It is to do with the scale of business, the increased amount of power in corporate hands vs Nation State. 1/
Put it this way if small companies complain about regulations that stop them exploiting customers the regs won't change, but if a huge multinational with revenue of a small country complains they can change regs, change policy, change gov 2/
And in the last 30 yrs we have seen an unprecedented increase in scale of business and size of company. We can relate this to the Big Bang in the financial markets, allowing the use of complex trading instruments to support extraordinary M&A activity creating corporate giants 3/
