People who don't go to RIPAS often don't seem to realise just how much time it takes? Every step takes time.
The appointment times may not mean anything (depending on the clinic/dept you're visiting). They operate more like rough slots for queue management

It’s been great seeing a lot of tweets discussing racism in #Brunei & I’ve been thinking a lot about my experience with racism — whether I’ve been on the receiving end or I’ve been racist myself/used race to demean others in the past.
Racism in Brunei does not surprise me & it shouldn’t surprise anyone. Just look at our national philosophy that has not been changed for the past 36 years to be more inclusive despite the multitude of races & religions that now identify as “Bruneian”.
Any brown Bruneian will tell you they’ve been called “kaling” at least once in their lifetime & I am no exception. You’ll tell me “That’s horrible” & you’re sorry it happened but when was the last time you corrected someone who said kedai kaling instead of kedai runcit?

Ok I decided to try post some #itjobs from Job Centre Brunei. Consider this experimental and no guarantee I'll post these in a timely manner, as monitoring this is done manually (there is no RSS feed boooo)
How come a post like this still exist in our society today #Brunei? Titled "Dream Wedding", the message that comes with it isn't something anyone should be making fun of, not just in defense of women but also what message it brings of Muslim men today. It is embarrassing to see.
And it's worse when they use Firman as their defense. This is not what the Firman means and a complete misuse of the teachings of Islam. This group Kern Hani obviously needs to be taught of not just how society works today but also understanding what it means to be a Muslim.

I’m far from a #Brunei expert/reporter (ping @ainbandial @tashny) but I’m seeing international media report the sultan’s announcement about the moratorium of the #deathpenalty as a “dramatic U-turn” and… that doesn’t seem quite right.
@ainbandial @tashny The truth is that #Brunei has been listed as "de facto abolitionist” when it comes to the #deathpenalty, which means that, while capital punishment is still in law, it hasn’t actually been practised (i.e. no executions) for at least 10 years.
@ainbandial @tashny While I find it interesting the sultan felt the need to come out and reiterate the moratorium—and do think that international pressure had something to do with it—calling it a “u-turn” obscures the fact that not carrying out executions isn’t a new thing, but long established.
