This morning we are joined by the incredible @dgslaw to talk about capacity building as part of our Social Justice Fund series. We believe that strong, healthy nonprofits can show up better and help more, and we thank DGS for giving their expertise in support of this.
First up, Sterling LeBouef is discussing the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act in Colorado and how this impacts various areas of employment processes. #capacitybuilding
Switching gears, Sterling is addressing Return to Work considerations - something on all of our minds as the vaccines are made more accessible and pandemic recovery begins. #capacitybuilding #COVID19

It was my pleasure to declare open yesterday, a 3-Day Capacity Building workshop organized for Technical Working Group Anchors & Heads of Secretariat constituted for the development of the Medium-Term National Development Plans (2021 - 2025 & 2026 -2030) & the Nigeria Agenda 2050
(1) As a responsible government, keen on changing the fortune of Nigerians, the administration of President @MBuhari desires that we periodically draw comprehensive plans through which the welfare of citizens can be enhanced economically and socially, among others.
(2) The new plans being articulated are expected to address development challenges in all aspects of the nationโ€™s life within the agreed time frame; and, so it was thought wise to build the capacity of the major drivers of the process to achieve a robust outcome.

My #CSPC2019 live tweeting #THREAD starts here!

I'll reply to this tweet w/ each panel I attend, creating a thread under each w/ live notes

My schedule: ๐Ÿ”—cspc2019.sched.com/shawnmcguirk

And, ICYMI, see the new CSPC magazine for my op-ed about @DSP_SPE & #CapacityBuilding in #scipol!
I wasn't intending on tweeting the symposium, but 2 really good points on skills:

๐Ÿ”น For communications, the ability to be brief (tweet length summaries!) is key

๐Ÿ”น Universities should promote organic mentorship by leveraging alumni office, get alums to meet students over โ˜•!
๐Ÿ”น Skills development has strong socio-economic dimension. Accessibility to good schooling even as early as Kindergarten can have large impacts later in life. The foundation of transferable (read: critical) skills stays with you as you later develop expertise.
