Kisin revealing his alliance by teaming up with that abhorrent #NATO-lauding #CEPA bigot Edward Lucas. Image
Oh boy. The cat is out of the bag.

Kisin is a total #NATO shill vomiting the Whitehouse script penned by Nuland.
Kisin projects himself as a smart cookie, he literally debunked himself.

#COVID19India

I suffered brain damage late last night, having read the original pre-print. Read this simple explainer by @MenonBioPhysics instead.

The "model" is a bit like an astrologer's prediction. When the 'Mangal Muhurat' doesn't arrive, he says it's some Rahu-Ketu...
+
... and shifts his prediction and says something else. And when that fails as well, then he adds some other variable which has behaved unpredictably. You get the drift, if you're an Indian.

The problem though, is NOT that they're not epidemiologists. The issue is that ... +
... they're #clueless hacks who know one thing (in a bounded domain) possibly well. But cannot distinguish an extremely complex phenomenon, with fractal behavior/cascaded (or multi-scale) consequences and feedback loops, which is modelling-resistant.

It could be worse ... +

When I was a kid, it seemed that a favorite insult used on playgrounds, in the neighborhood, and wherever kids gathered, was calling someone a "faggot."

I could tell, from an early age, that being a "faggot" must be a really horrible thing, but I didn't know what it was.
Later, when understanding illuminated meaning, I knew that kids, well, now teens, who were contemptuously deriding the guy that couldn't shoot straight (at basketball), or missed a catch in baseball, etc., were talking about ... me.
How could I ever tell family and friends that the word they invested with such disgust, such contempt, such disregard, was a word that described me, and people like me.

It’s #Monday, I’m boozing it up at a 4 seat bar, the #barkeep is a long pourer, and I’m all fucking set if I get something stuck between my teeth.👇🙃 #RandomThoughts #drinking #OutAndAbout
Shooting the shit with a friend, she’s proud to be doing well with her plants - unusual for her.

The key was a #video explaining the benefits of pruning.

She needs REASONS. She got them.

Apparently, pruning in a particular manner stimulates growth hormones.

Of course, this led to me initiating a discussion about the #movie I just watched on Hulu, called “The German Doctor.”

The main character was Josef Mengele. #ThisHappened

People, this is why I’m known in my circles as “The Black Hole Of Conversation.” SMTH

The UK Gov declined more ambitious full fibre option, or even universal coverage, when looking at the roll out of superfast broadband. They set a target of 95% - not 100%, 95%! Where did these rural Tory MPs think the 5% would be?! #clueless #selfinflicted #SNPsortingToryFail
Their answer for the final 5%? A Universal Service Obligation. The UK-wide USO provides a legal right to request a broadband connection of 10M
download & 1M upload, up to a reasonable cost threshold (£3400).
Ofcom is working on the delivery, expected to be available next year..
Worth noting SNP proposed a 30M USO, arguing 10M was insufficient, cementing in the digital divide, not closing it. 30M would've given parity for all citizens, but also critically necessitated a different approach (more fibre) meaning less chance of the gap opening up in future.

1/ Tweetstorm a comin' cuz @IvyBGrey really likes it when I "have a conversation with an article." First of all, super 💯 helpful and useful breakdown of varying #innovation approaches, so everyone trying to do all the innovation things, please read the article, like now thanks.
2/ Is "incremental" a dirty word? No. But to most people it #feels less exciting & flashy than "#disruptive." Yes, I said #feels. Bc most ppl probably will not read Ivy's excellent article or this tweetstorm bc they're not on Twitter. To them all this sounds/#feels like jargon.
2 / Exhibit A / From @DCaseyF who is now 5.7% as famous as @RealCarrotTop, who is in turn is now only 0.8% as Twitter famous as @EmrgencyKittens: geeklawblog.com/2016/09/im-wor…
