- Dyche beefed up his midfield by playing three physically strong ball winners in Gueye, Onana and Doucoure. Those three matched up against Xhaka, Partey and Ødegaard was no contest on winning second balls

- Dyche instructed Pickford to exclusively hit long balls from goal kicks, which completely removed Arsenal’s ability to press from the front and allowed those three ball-winners get second balls to control midfield

- Dyche also asked Iwobi and McNeil to tuck inside in the low block to double up against Saka and Martinelli, much like City did vs Arsenal in the FA Cup. This neutralised the two main threats on the wing and significantly reduced any goal scoring opportunities

#MCFC £619m reported the highest revenue, just ahead of #RealMadrid £605m with #LFC £594m up to 3rd, overtaking #MUFC £583m, #PSG £554m, #FCBayern £554m and #FCBarcelona £540m.

8 of the 9 highest revenue increases over 2020/21 came from English clubs. #LFC led the way with an impressive £106m, followed by #MUFC £89m and #THFC £82m. The biggest reductions were at two Italian clubs, troubled Juventus £44m and Inter £32m.

Arsenal's opening offer for Mykhaylo Mudryk is short of Shakhtar's expectations. Told it's more of a marker than a bid they expect to get accepted. High confidence a deal will be done, but all about structure. #AFC bid €40m + €25m in add ons. Shakhtar want a higher base fee.

The public valuation of €100m won't be met by #AFC. Told Shakhtar are hoping for €50-55m plus add ons. #AFC don't want to go above €70m with all aspects of the deal met.

Sporting director Darijo Srna told me anyone who bids for Mudryk must "respect" Shakhtar and pay "a lot, a lot, a lot" of money. Shakhtar are notoriously tough negotiators.

🚨 Shakhtar director of football Darijo Srna tells me any club wanting Mykhaylo Mudryk must spend "a lot, a lot, a lot of money." Shakhtar are saying publicly they want €100m. But, as previously reported, sources say privately they will entertain offers of €60m+.

That's double Everton's offer last summer. #EFC and Brentford were the two Premier League clubs most advanced and intent on signing Mudryk back then. Arsenal made enquiries but never bid. Now they are seriously focused on a formal offer.

Contrary to some reports, nothing has been tabled just yet. But conversations are ongoing and advancing. Mudryk wants Arsenal (as he told me) so it's now about whether a deal makes financial sense. Shakhtar are tough negotiators.

#MCFC chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak noted that it was also the most successful financial year in the club’s history with chief executive Ferran Soriano highlighting that City broke the club records for both revenue and profits.

#MCFC pre-tax profit improved from £5m to £42m, as revenue rose £43m (8%) from £570m to £613m, thanks to recovery from COVID and the return of fans to the stadium, while operating expenses only increased £11m (2%). Profit from player sales was almost unchanged at £68m.

#Juventus pre-tax loss widened from €208m to €252m (€254m after tax), as revenue dropped €35m (8%) from €450m to €415m and profit on player sales fell €3m (9%) to €28m. Operating expenses rose €1m (6%), while net interest payable increased €5m (49%) to €16m.

The return of fans to the stadium meant growth in #Juventus ticket sales, up €25m to €32m, and commercial, up €5m (3%) to €200m. However, broadcasting fell €65m (28%) to €171m, partly as income in prior year deferred from extended 2019/20 season. Player loans flat at €12m.

More on Maciek Kaminski's proposed takeover of Everton. Although there has been positive dialogue, a deal is not imminent. No price has been agreed. Sources close to the Kaminski side also don't recognise £400m as the sale number being spoken of.

That may be what #EFC want, but Peter Kenyon's consortium, which Kaminski was part of before going solo, actually (& contrary to some reports) valued club lower (under £350m) with a commitment on top to fund new stadium. Agreeing a price with Farhad Moshiri remains the challenge.

Moshri's valuation has been as high as £500m in the past (he's softened a little) but due diligence during the period of exclusivity, which has now expired, resulted in a significant gap in valuation.

The Premier League has published details of the TV payments to clubs for the 2021/22 season. These amounted to £2.5 bln, ranging from £153m for champions #MCFC to £101m for 20th placed #NCFC (the first time the bottom club got more than £100m).

The largest increases compared to the previous season came at #BHAFC, up £16m, and #AFC, up £11m. In contrast, three clubs received over £10m less than 2020/21: #LUFC £17m, #EFC £13m and #LCFC £11m.

Each of the 20 Premier League clubs received £87.5m as an equal share, coming from domestic rights £31.8m, overseas rights £48.9m and commercial revenue £6.8m.
