Fashionable Yoruba, Egba Men on the streets of London. Date: May 12th, 1937 (The Sketch)

Original Caption “The Babalola of Abeokuta (right) came to London as one of the members of the West African delegation and is seen taking a stroll around London"
The Caption of this photo might not be correct, is there any chieftaincy title such as the “Babalola” in Abeokuta? Was it meant to be “Oba lola” (King in waiting)
One thing is sure, the image was taken during the  coronation of George VI and his wife, Elizabeth, as King and Queen of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth, and as Emperor and Empress of India took place at Westminster Abbey, London.

I was at the UN right after the #GulfWar. I had something dreadful to say abt #SaddamHussein on a daily basis, which he deserved b/c he invaded #Kuwait. The Iraqi media compared me to an unparalleled serpent. I happened to have a snake pin, and wore it to my next meeting on Iraq.
The press asked me about it, I thought, “Well, this is fun.” On good days, I wore flowers butterflies & balloons, on bad days, all kinds of bugs & carnivorous animals, as an additional way of expressing what I was saying a visual way to deliver a message.

After the #MetPolice tried & failed to frame me & after ex #MetPoliceUK turned private investigators @Surelock_ tried & failed to frame me & my mum, attempt number 3 was #EE & #UKMail. I had never used @EE but they made me their customer

#SwitchtoO2 #o2 #Vodafone #Three #LBC
#EE said I had ordered mobile phones & sim cards & #UKMail said they had delivered them to me (with me showing my passport) at home. I did neither. I didn't order any mobiles & I didn't receive any mobiles. It was a complete stitch up
