Jens Spahn's Federal Ministry of Health bought FFP2 protective masks from Burda GmbH last year. This emerges from documents that the ministry sent to the Bundestag and that the "Spiegel" reports on.

The mask deal could therefore harbor conflicts of interest because Minister Spahn's husband, Daniel Funke, works as a lobbyist and office manager of the Burda representative office in Berlin.

The Federal Ministry of Health sent the Health Committee on Thursday an extensive list of companies with which the house has concluded contracts for the delivery of protective masks, the magazine continues.

According to a senior Hamas official, a delegation from the Palestinian militant group Hamas received $22 million in cash from slain Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commander Qassem Soleimani during a 2006 visit to Tehran.

Mahmoud al-Zahar, a former foreign minister and senior Hamas official, said in an interview with Iran's Arabic-language al-Alam television network on Sunday that he had described some of the financial problems faced by the Palestinian group during a meeting with Soleimani.

On January 3, Soleimani, who headed the Quds Forces, the IRGC's overseas arms, was killed in a US airstrike at Baghdad's international airport. There is growing concern about what Iran or its militias could do in advance of the first anniversary of the death of Soleimani.

China declared the ratification of an extradition treaty with Turkey, a document that Beijing would like to use, among other items, to speed up the return of some "terrorist" refugees and Muslim Uighurs.

Although the bilateral agreement signed in 2017 has not yet been ratified by the Turkish parliament, concerns have already been posed among the large Uyghur diaspora (estimated at 50,000 people) present in Turkey.

Turkey has linguistic and cultural links with the Uyghurs, and Ankara has long been one of the main supporters on the international stage of their cause, while Turkey's public display of support has recently declined.

during the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) virtual meeting of the Joint Commission on the Iranian nuclear program. The ministerial event can also be held online before the end of 2020, Russia's media was today told by an Iranian diplomatic source.

"The commission will start online preparations for a ministerial meeting which is currently planned to be held before the end of the year," the source quoted.
