1/ I've argued ad nauseum for a more practical approach to public safety, business and public finance in #Chicago and #Illinois. But my sense is I'm mostly reaching people predisposed to my moderare to center-right views. So a brief thread for my #progressive friends on the #left
2/ I want to start out by saying that some of the smartest and nicest people I know identify as progressive. They are good people. They want good things. Yet I think many have a naive worldview and as a consequence don't appreciate the practicalities of achieving their aims.
3/ Here's the main issue insofar as Chicago and Illinois are concerned: stuff costs money. States and cities don't have their own central banks that can just print money and finance deficits. There's a real cost to progressive policy initiatives that have to be borne by someone.
I love how the #LEFT target those of #Faith & especially those that are #Conservative with #Evil #Laws to impose #immoral & #unethical standards of living. @DNC #DemocratParty is full of immoral people. @POTUS @JoeBiden is the Chief among them all.

I was yesterday at the @Europarl_BE to represent @ENoMW in front of the group #LEFT and share our analysis of the directive proposal on violence against #women and girls by the @EuropeanCommiss
There is currently no specific legal instrument that comprehensively addresses violence against women at #EU level. The most comprehensive international framework is the @coe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Girls (Istanbul Convention)
The new proposal for a directive aims to provide for standards for prevention, protection and access to justice, & criminalisation of specific forms of violence against women. It is aimed to be an #EU instrument, with binding obligations on Member States.

There is a complete meltdown of the #left ecosystem in India with @SadhguruJV appearing on @Trevornoah's @TheDailyShow, talking about the #SaveSoil movement. The outpouring of hate for the man is weird to see and yet completely believable given the history of the Indian left.
It is hilarious to see many of them complaining about Trevor hosting Sadhguru and in the same breath speaking about the freedom of expression of individuals and how the left ecosystem is for providing equal opportunity to hear all voices.
And many of them claim to have a genuine concern for the environment as well. If you did not get the irony yet, you seriously need a college course in "Irony 101" :)

An important thread in this documentary that is often lost in discussions of these transitions is that they owe in part to a failure on the #Left to message and frame (a failure I personally think describes the last 40 years of #DemocraticParty politics).

It’s now clear that Biden had a three part agenda: 1) Get elected #POTUS. 2) Pass a lot of very expensive government programs. 3) Go down in history as an #FDR or #LBJ, a president who permanently transformed American society.

Now we see it was always a #lie. The obligation was to obey the ruling class. Staying poor was what the bosses wanted the poor to do. Their misery provides the smoke screen for the rulers' real goal: exercising power because they like it.
Cutting people off from medical care because they ate the wrong things, used the wrong drugs, had the wrong kind of sex was evil, because it would remove the rulers' excuses for action. THOSE people have an absolute right to "health care," paid for by the productive.
