The desert is coming. The #Sahara desert is expanding towards Southern #Spain and #Italy, and experts predict that both regions will become deserts by 2100 or even sooner. Unfortunately, not much grows in the desert. 
Natalie Thomas, author of the study that quantified the Sahara’s century of growth, asks: “Morally, how do we deal with the fact that developing countries are paying the price?”
“Only when problems begin to affect wealthier nations do these find impetus to act. The Sahara situation is similar: desertification could actually spread across the Mediterranean Sea into Europe within the next century, which would certainly stir up its member states.”
It's a while since I've had one of these, and not in response to anything specific - I've been very inactive on #WesternSahara lately. Must be a quiet day on a troll farm somewhere in #Morocco.

After the publication of the ‘Afghan Files’, I went to Spain for one last attempt to get publicity for the case. While was there the AFP raided my house and it was clear I would soon be arrested. Sarah and the girls came to join me in Spain for one last holiday.
We travelled to the Sahara desert on the Moroccan-Algerian border, and rode the camel train into the dunes. To get there we had to travel for many long days on ferries, trains, and mini-buses, sometimes all night, but they never complained.
They knew there was a warrant for my arrest, and that I may be in gaol for a long time, maybe life. Occasionally we would cry together, but they never doubted I was doing the right thing. I have never loved them so much.

[Comment ?] Une dépression (lignes blanches) se situe sur l'Espagne : le vent (flèche noire) est de sud à l'avant de celle-ci de l'Afrique jusqu'à la France. Il se charge de particules de sable et fait remonter de la douceur (couleur orangée) jusqu'à la France.
[Pourquoi ?] Ce sont des particules bien + petites que la sable de plage, propulsées dans la haute atmosphère grâce à des vents verticaux. (même phénomène pour les feux de forêts). Reprises par les vents d'altitude, elles parcours ainsi des milliers de kilomètres en altitude.

This is a nice exercise in basic knowledge -- 1) a defaulter is NOT someone with a huge debt. You can have a MASSIVE and worrying borrowing but that is NOT a default. This one has filed bankruptcy!
Many people are touchingly clueless about the extent of corporate default. yes, a default of Rs 8000 crore (nirav), Rs10,000 crore (Mallya) is big, but we are talking about 15 times the amount (at least) and no muscular govt action! in fact SILENCE
