The shipping industry has a number of different business models, depending on the type of goods being transported and the mode of transportation. For example, #container shipping is a popular business model for transporting large volumes of standardized cargo.
Earlier today, #EU agreed on a badly needed reform of the EU Emissions Trading System (#EUETS) which is the system of cap-and-trade of #carbonemissions allowances for #energyintensive industries and the #powergeneration sector. The most critical points are:
1. Agreement to make it compulsory for #EU members to dedicate all their auctioning revenues to #climateaction #investments
2. Sectors covered by the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (recently agreed #EU #carbon import tax) such as #cement, #aluminium, #fertilisers, #electricty production, #hydrogen, #iron and #steel, will see an end to free #allowances for these sectors between 2026 and 2034
The Centre for Policy Research in Maritime Studies (C-PRiMeS), a centre established in the @IMU_HQ to promote #research and #policy studies on the #maritime sector, was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways on 4.11.2022.

When rates come down in the future and asset values "crash," the raw NAV (assets minus debts) will come way down. However, in a falling market, charters become *more* valuable and adj. NAV might even go *up* in certain scenarios.

First off, what is bunker fuel?

In short - nasty stuff. When you refine crude oil into petroleum products, you get lots of byproducts. There's still energy in these things, but also more impurities and it's more viscous - meaning thicker, harder to pump.

You probably know that Gasoline sits at the top while Bitumen sits at the bottom. Bitumen is basically asphalt, not something you want to burn.
Anything too dirty/heavy to burn around humans because it's too toxic, but still viscous enough to pump, is classified as "bunker fuel"
