On this day in 1929 (most) women were recognized in law to be persons in the British Empire. This paved the way for things we take for granted today: voting, owning property, self-determination, employment. Things that weren't afforded because of our sex. #PersonsDay #Suffragette 
And on this day we must play homage to our #Suffragette foremothers who worked so hard for us. #FamousFive #EmmelinePankhurst and many other women must be remembered. And today we must continue to be vigillent in guarding our rights as #Women. #PersonsDay #WomensRights
On #PersonsDay we must think of the women in other countries who have lost rights, like Afghanistan and Iran. And we must continue to be forceful as our very basic rights in our own country are eroding. We must have strength to protect our unborn girls #DaughtersOfTheSuffragettes

Thought experiment: how about a 10 year moratorium where men cannot be voted or appointed to office? Sounds drastic but it’s what women endured until recently, other minorities too. And might be the best way to change our culture of patriarchy and misogyny.
