There's a gentleman who always speaks about #venturefunding in the #renewableenergy sector. Honestly, my eyes glaze over when he goes on about turbines and solar panels and the projects he's working on in Brazil. This is because venture funding is not my area of strength.

One day he told me his revenue projections and my eyes popped at the numbers.

Another lady only talks #agriculture. She runs a couple of farms in Northern #Nigeria and exports to other African countries. Another gentleman is a #cryptocurrency guru. He's always promoting one Initial Coin Offering or the other.

Finally, there's a gentleman who runs a #realestate company. His passion is virgin land and estate development.

You know, hanging out with these obviously wealthy and successful people focused my #investment philosophy this year. These guys are not "hustlers". They are not trying any and every thing. They find a sector they understand and give themselves to mastering it.

More importantly, these #investors spend years building the human networks that allow them to access cheap funding and get first crack at projects. They are not investment greedy.

This year, I decided to chart the success of all my #investment ventures and to focus on no more than three. My goal is to eventually master at least one. This has freed up considerable time and head space.
