Saptarishi or Big Dipper is the most commonly recognizable constellation in the night sky. Woven into mythology and folk lores across the world, it must have guided forlorn sailors and travellers alike. But what if I told you that the appearance of constellation is a lie? 2/n
Made up 7 stars, the nearest star of Saptarishi is only 63 light years away while the farthest one is 210 light years away...... 1 light year is almost 9000 billion kms.

You can see that they are anything but a closely placed group of stars. 3/n

Voter enthusiasm/engagement is very high in the new Pew poll, with 61% of voters saying they're more enthusiastic than usual to vote in the midterms. This question is usually a pretty good predictor of overall national turnout. pewrsr.ch/2ONPD0q
Note, however, that GOP historically quite high by midterm standards -- it's just that Democratic enthusiasm is totally off the charts.
A pretty good #take is that with base turnout already expected to be quite high, the parties should spend the final 6 weeks of the campaign appealing to swing voters instead.

@Planck This paper gives a comparison between likelihoods for the data - generally in agreement although for some parameters there is a systematic difference of 0.5sigma between likelihoods on the same data.
@Planck Which is also shown in this figure, comparing the ’15 results to the ’18 ones (the systematic likelihood shift is the worst for the baryon density, and therefore the shift between different releases).

If you knew, beyond any doubt, that literally everything you put out into the Universe comes back to YOU (attitude, generosity, anger, hate, violence, patience, forgiveness, understanding, love, care, literally ANYthing & EVERYthing) would you behave differently than you do now?
Consider the FACT that you are a closed-loop, complete system in & of yourself. Literally EVERYTHING you do, eat, think, feel, say, etc., WILL manifest itself in your BODY in some way. What inputs are you feeding your body? Not just physically but mentally & emotionally as well?
Anger is a choice. Hate is a choice. Fear is a choice. Negativity is a choice. One can allow these emotions to INFORM their consciousness of a need or boundary to be addressed. Beyond that information, there is no use for these things, and they will only make you SICK, physically

String theory is interesting and a worthwhile research topic. But I often wish that popular science articles about string theory were less hype and would also inform the readers of the shortcomings of the approach. Here is a reminder 1/10 #physics
String theory, as a theory of quantum gravity and a unification of the forces, has zero experimental evidence speaking for it. 2/10
String theory predicts additional dimensions of space which have not been seen. String theorists therefore conjectured that the unseen new dimensions are very small and compact, so they are unlike the dimensions we are familiar with - for unknown reasons. 3/10
