STEPHANIE HAYDEN SUES FATHER TED CREATOR GRAHAM LINEHAN following 5 days of targeted #harassment and a defamatory article in #TheTimes

#GRAHAMLINEHAN (GL) On 26 September 2018 GL retweeted (republished) a series of defamatory and harassing tweets made by an anonymous Twitter troll account known for targeting #transgender women for #harassment. (2)

In doing so GL magnified the audience of the troll account from the hundreds to the hundreds of thousands. Within those tweets were photographs of Hayden, her family, and her friends. (3) #transgender

The tweets republished by GL were details of companies associated with the family of Hayden. GL republished details of company numbers, addresses, as well as content targeting Hayden and her family for #harassment. GL did this without any thought for the safety of Hayden (4)

GL was reckless as to the safety of Hayden, her family, her friends, and the veracity of the defamatory allegations that he republished. He made no independent inquiry to ascertain their accuracy. Innocent friends and family of Hayden were targeted for harassment #transgender (5)

GL then published a series of false allegations alleging that Hayden had published private details of GL's wife. These allegations are denied in the strongest possible terms #transgender (6)

On 26 September 2018 Hayden reported GL to Norfolk Police. #transgender #harassment (7)

GL gave an interview to #LucyBannerman of #TheTimes (London) on 28 September 2018. Bannerman is a known #transgender hostile journalist. In the interview GL repeated his false and defamatory allegations about Hayden and called Hayden a "dangerous troll". (8)

An article based on GL's false allegations was published in #TheTimes on 29 September 2018. The article was defamatory, inaccurate, and entirely one sided towards GL. It was yet another article targeting #transgender people for ridicule and contempt. (9)

Subsequently later that same day #MailOnline published an online article based on GL's defamatory interview with #Bannerman. #transgender #harassment (10)

On 29 September 2018 GL published further defamatory tweets targeting Hayden for #harassment. GL "dead named" Hayden, referenced her as a man, even though GL knows Hayden holds a female Gender Recognition Certificate. This is nothing less than #transphobia (11)

GL once again republished the series of defamatory and harassing tweets published by the troll account targeting Hayden and her family. This ensured a further audience in the hundreds of thousands #transgender (12)

The allegations made by GL require a response and that response has now come in the form of #litigation. Arrangements are being made to formally serve GL with the High Court proceedings #law #legal #transgender (13)

At this time #TheTimes is not subject to legal proceedings. Freedom of the press is an important part of life in the #UK. With that freedom comes responsibility. The decision not to sue the newspaper will be reviewed if further defamatory articles are published #transgender (14)

Suing a global celebrity is not a decision to be taken lightly. I am ready for whatever comes and I am in no doubt as to what is now heading my way; however, to not respond to the unacceptable behaviour of GL would be the cowardly response. I am no coward #transgender (15)

GL said to #TheTimes that I had "overreached", well perhaps I did, but make no mistake GL targeted the wrong person for #transphobia and #harassment. I do fight back and this afternoon that fight has commenced. (16)

GL is known throughout the #transgender community for his #transphobia and ridicule of trans women. GL thought he could bully me by employing the assistance of his media allies. GL was mistaken (17)

Now that there are active legal proceedings the matter is sub judice. I ask sensible people to respect the process of the #law. GL will have an opportunity in court to prove his allegations. (18) #transgender

#transphobia is abhorrent. The #transgender community is subject to #harassment each and every day by the media and people like GL. This time GL went too far. The only response to that is a legal one (19)
