To male evangelical pastors who resonate with Trump’s call to arms against #metoo for “vulnerable” white men who “can be accused at any moment and have their lives ruined” by a false accusation. 1/

There are no more false accusations of sexual assault than any other crime—about 2%. Meanwhile, 1 in 5 women in US are victims of rape/sexual assault and 60% of survivors NEVER REPORT IT AT ALL. Who is in danger here? Under your logic women should be deathly afraid of men. 2/

Let’s think about this: To believe that men are suddenly going to be falsely accused by women who they never abused is to reveal an incredibly low view of women. It is also incredibly narcissistic. Believe it or not, we don’t live our lives thinking about you! #CallToPause 3/

Men who have reason for concern are those living in the dark—who have actually abused women! Now is the time of #revelation. Will you look at the light of Jesus’ truth and curse it?! If so, you are far from God and you will miss God’s opportunity for restoration and healing. 4/

If a man’s value is oriented around his achievements and how much of the world he controls, then women’s lives won’t matter. All that will matter is the capture and keeping of power. 5/

If a man’s value is oriented around how well he is connected to himself, his family, his community and the world; with love and respect flowing to and from all—then Jesus’ revelation of brokenness becomes an invitation to healing and reconnection. #CallToPause 6/

My prayer for Christian men in era of #metoo: God, help them see your full image in all women. Help them see our divine call/capacity to help lead the world. And may they welcome and surrender to the light of your revelation. #CallToPause 7/7
