Late yesterday @secAzar went on state run media to tout a new law that would require manufacturers to list the price of drugs advertised on TV. Sounds so great; Right? #Thread
Here’s the link to the HHS mouth piece on what they were talking about.

Let’s break down what’s wrong with all of this propaganda. First off this is a proposal not a law. Meaning it would have to be voted on & we all know that won’t happen.
If they go the other possible route and try to make this a guidance, that is also a no go. trump signed an E.O. stating that no guidance can cost a company money. We all know this is going to “cost money”.
The next issue is the List Price. They make it sound like it’s the counter price for the drugs. This price is so far from the counter it might as well be climate change for some people.
See the highlighted spot in this chart? You are at the bottom of the chart. At each level down the chart as the drug gets closer to you, the price increases.
To fully understand all of this read this linked article.

Finally the drugs that this will cover is maybe in the single digit % of what will be covered under Medicare & Medicaid.
Once again, pay no attention to man behind the curtain.
