Thread! Due to ignoramus Trump and poorly-informed pundits, too many Americans think the #ACA is nothing but the mandate, pre-existing coverage, and healthcare.gov. It's SO much more. If the O'Connor ruling stands, these items will disappear:

1) The Medicare Part-D doughnut hole that forced seniors to go without meds for part of the year is supposed to close by 2020 thanks to the #ACA. Repeal would re-open it.
2) Insurers *have to* cover maternity care, preventative care, mental health, lab tests, disability care...

...pediatric care including dental and vision, prescription drugs, ER visits, etc.
3) The #ACA eliminates annual and lifetime limits on coverage so you will always be covered regardless of health.
4) Establishes limits on how much you have to spend out of pocket...

5) Kids get to stay on their parents' plan thru age 26.
6) Insurers required to spend 85% of premiums on actual care, limiting profits and bonuses to execs.
7) Increases gov spending on drug prevention. Seems important given #opioids.

8) Requires background checks for nursing home employees, preventing elder abuse.
9) Until Trump meddled with it, the #ACA slowed the rate of annual premium hikes.
10) ACA expands Medicaid to cover more low income Americans. States only pay 10% of the cost. Feds cover 90%.

11) Provides subsidies to help middle class Americans to pay premiums.
12) Prevents coverage and premium discrimination based on sex.

All of this goes away if the #ACA is repealed or ruled unconstitutional. This includes ALL health insurance coverage whether thru the ACA or not.

Amazing that #MAGA loyalists are okay with losing all of these health benefits. Again, repealing the ACA doesn't just kill benefits for poors and libtards. It kills these benefits for literally everyone with insurance. But fine, owning the libs by going broke or dying. Good luck.
