I know this statement have a meaning beyond just English language, it transcend to sports and also has its meaning.

In relationship/marriage, when you hear #GuardsUp, it means resisting some advances that you deem inappropriate. It means being alert and providing requisite defense in such situations.

In general, #GuardsUp is a form of defense built against the occurrence or happenings that you don't desire.

When your guards are up, you are always able to detect easily and put at bay flaying attacks.
You won't easily become a prey because you are watching out always.

If your guards are up against failure for instance, you don't wait for failures or its tendencies to meet you, you are always in defense against any occurrence of failures.

It is important for you to always have your #GuardsUp, it keep your eyes watchful. You see easily what you are up against which then give you enough capability to surmount them.

The red flags you see in anything is because you watch out for them. That is, you had your #GuardsUp as regards those things.

If you've never seen any red flag, it's probably because you never thought there can be any and that means you don't watch out for them.

I make bold to say if you don't put your #GuardsUp in key areas of your life, a lot of things that should not get to you will, and there you may suffer a fatal loss.

Keep your #GuardsUp, keep your defenses, take the bull by the horn and keep the enemy at bay.

One critical way to keep your #GuardsUp is to look into a specific area of your life, Write those things you will not want to see happen, then build your defense against those things by blocking any tendency of such coming at you.

Secondly, learn the right ways of making that area of your life work. As you align right the new knowledge, you'll see that those negative tendencies diffuse before you.
