A short thread in case anyone’s planning to buy any new #furniture in Boxing Day or New Year #sales. Please don’t remove the fire safety tags from upholstered furniture or beds. 1/3 Furniture fire safety label
So far @TheBHF have been able to generate over £1,000 including Gift Aid from furniture, electricals etc from my mum’s house, which would have pleased her a lot. But they could have made so much more - and more people who need it could’ve got some cheap furniture... 2/3
Far too much just had to go to the dump because they can’t legally and safely sell furniture without fire safety labels. Please keep the labels on your new stuff so you can sell or donate it when you don’t need it any more. And please spread the word. 3/3

Wide press coverage this morning about @NHSEngland plans for the 4-hour A&E target, with @NHSEnglandNMD quoted on how @HealthwatchE and others are informing this work. We’ve been saying for a long time that there needs to be a new approach to targets. This short thread says why.
When @HealthwatchE fed 85,000 people’s experiences into #NHSLongTermPlan development, this included 6,500 experiences of A&E. We gave our analysis to @CommonsHealth for its inquiry on LTP. The select committee has now published our evidence. Here’s a link.

1. Put your kids in schools you can afford because expensive schools don't guarantee good results. Just ensure they attend a good affordable schools
2. Rent apartments you can pay for conveniently. Don’t live in a house you struggle to pay yearly.

3. A man whose wife is pregnant has 9 months to prepare, same as the pregnant woman in question. They should even plan for the worse and only seek help when they can’t meet up.
4. Let’s plan our lives and live within our means. Save more and spend less and invest.

5. Some people don’t earn much, but have DSTV at home, go for GOTV and upgrade when your income upgrades. It’s still the same CNN anyway!
