For those that don’t know: Judge Emmett Sullivan is the first judge to be appointed across four presidential admins (Reagan, first). He obtained his law degree at Howard University (he’s black 😉). Could you imagine Trump’s anger rn? 😁 🤣 Cue the Russian bots, in 3, 2, 1 ...
Just heard he’s also the judge that ordered the plane turned around from El Salvador in August, so a woman could have her legitimate asylum claim heard. Love Judge Sullivan! ✊🏼💕

Thread: @arimelber asked me last night whether #TrumpShutDown was at all related to the pressure brought to bear by the #MuellerProbe. Let’s consider this more closely. It’s a distraction & attempt to show strength at a time that #Trump has been weakened.
First, #MuellerProbe will continue full steam ahead. It is funded and not impacted by #TrumpShutDown. The shutdown isn’t wise or good for anyone. So a shutdown only serves to help Trump if it makes him look strong and like a “winner” to his base. Wrong-headed But Trumpian logic.
Things to remember as we wake up to a partial #GovernmentShutdown: You will still get Medicare, Medicaid, SSI services. Dept of State, DOJ, DOT r among the agencies that will have to shut some activities. Homeland security won’t stop border enforcement, courts will operate.

To everyone that (again) thought this #Mueller SC probe was wrapping up...

NOPE.

This was never going anywhere in the court of law, court of public opinion is where this is being tried.

The probe will end closer to 2020 campaign season.
The day Mueller was appointed I knew he'd streach out the probe until late 2019 early 2020.

If the probe wrapps any sooner, expect impeachment proceeding shortly there after. The "report" would be a needed pretext to do so.

I'm honestly not sure if the house will try it.
I'm not rooting for impeachment, I just live in the real world. The democrats just might think that would hurt his reelection run... Again, there is no real legal jeopardy here, but they're playing for hearts and minds with their propaganda blitz.
