Let me share with you the funny reason I gave my life to Christ. The story of my salvation.

#Thread
My parents married each other with their religious differences. Dad was a Muslim and Mum a Christian. They were both happy with their decision and like mum said, they decided they'll worship separately without problems since there is only one God. Like stew, joy was everywhere 😅
Issues came by later as kids came. Questions arose; Who would bend his/her ego to join the other in religion? In what religion should the children be raised? Should their Muslim names be registered officially in school? Or should we just split the children in religion?
These were question that bothered their mind but never had a chance to have a heart to heart about. They rather started asking each other with attitudes. Those days were hot.
When things seem to cool down however, they are the best parent you can have. You don't want to get in trouble when their is no trouble between them. Like a lion and lioness, they'll set you in the center and tear you apart into two equal halves yet, your body feels whole.
I have reasons to believe that apart from the religion issues, we'll easily pass as the world best family. There were days when mum will collect offering from dad to give in church. Times when dad will drop mum in church for night vigil on his way during night duty shifts.
When dad organises a Muslim prayer, mum will religiously cover her head looking like an "Alaja" and participate with saying "amen" throughout the period. It was bliss watching them switch and accommodate each other. But occasionally when the devil sparks, it was hot.
Dad went the way of the earth😢 in 2014 and these was when my life began officially. Prior to the sad event, my sister ( only female sibling ) was married to a Christian. My elder brother was an unrepentant Christian already leaving myself and my younger brother in religious ...
...Perplexity. We ( my younger brother and I) hustled both religion together. Night vigil, Nasfast, MFM 's 70 days fasting and prayer, Ramadan and MFM 's "Power must change hand " programmes. We were everywhere and we seemed to enjoy it.
Until 2014 when I was left to really choose. Dad was no more to coerce us to observe Salat. Mum expressly said she'll will not force Christianity on us. We were left to choose. We were like Micheal Jackson without a record deal, both religious label haunted signing us.
Some will say " make sure you continue your dad's legacy ooo". Christians went " take care of your mum and do everything to make her happy".

I knew that whatever decision I took was going to affect my brother. He was but a young boy with feeble mind then. He'll do whatever I do
In one of my solitude periods, I decided to make a decision for two. After a long thought, I concluded I was going to be a Christian so I could patch the family. I wanted to know how it felt to be in a family under a single religion. I could smell bliss.
I did it for the family. I thought if mum and dad could not bend their ego to form a pact, I have a chance to. And the power to make that move was lying in the decision of an 18y/o 200level boy. I did it for peace. I accepted Christ not so He could be my personal Lord and saviour
Now,my reasons have been reviewed. The reason for my acceptance was to solve personal family issues but that doesn't even matter anymore. I have tasted salvation and I'm not letting go again. It's sweet. It's bliss. My being and #thoughts, are now sourced from The Source, Jesus.
I now understand what it means to have faith. The gift of the Holy Spirit. A singular tripartite being who is interested in everything about my life.
I was looking for peace then I found its Prince.
