I’m currently on one of the Standard Gauge Rail Lines that the @MBuhari Administration is completing (tracks finished, stations being built). We’re traveling at about 90km per hour, AC pumping,phones charging. It’s free cos it’s still test-run phase. I have about 3 hours to go :)

This is AJAOKUTA Station under construction. Filmed today, on #ItakpeWarriRail Line. I boarded at Ujevwu community in Udu LGA of Delta State. We departed at 8.12am, and rolled into ITAKPE in Kogi State at about 2pm. 30+ years project, finally running! #RailUPng #PMBMeansBusiness

The #ItakpeWarriRail is being test-run, so services are free for now. Full Commercial operations should start soon.

Mrs Saliu was on the train with us, so we decided to ask her for an interview. She looks forward to bringing her kids along next time.

The #ItakpeWarriRail is a standard gauge rail line that runs 327km across Kogi, Edo and Delta States. There’s a plan to extend it from Itakpe, first to Lokoja, and then on to Abuja to connect to the #AbujaKadunaRail. Has taken 30+ years to get here!

NRC Official told me yesterday that traders are already eagerly awaiting launch of commercial freight ops on #ItakpeWarriRail Line. A woman says she wants to move 250 kegs of palm oil from Warri to Itakpe, and bring back yams for sale in Warri. She says there are MANY like her :)
