When you're a big fish in a small pond, you assume that's all there is to the world. Lack of exposure will limit some people's concept of excellence. That's my problem with many Christians. They hide in the church & are not well read, so their barometer for creativity is flawed.

It's truly sad because the Holy Spirit is such a bundle of creativity. I wonder if many truly know him. The Holy Spirit cannot be mediocre so I wonder what many Christians are channeling.

Religion says, "Touch not", "Don't do this or that". It becomes the self appointed guardian of morality. So its worldview is by necessity, limited.

Christians then excuse their poverty mentality and mediocrity by saying they are trying to make heaven. Which heaven? The heaven described by John in Revelations is an excellent place. It's divine in its exquisite design.

I think many Christians are simply intellectually bereft and physically lazy. They do not resemble their Father who works really hard; who keeps iterating until he attains perfection.

Christians compete against themselves; they measure themselves against themselves and so are not wise.

Another level of pain for me is how people give God trash under the guise of Christianity. You put your best foot forward when you want to make money or when you're doing stuff for yourself, but God doesn't deserve the best of your creativity and effort.

So because it's worship, you don't need to use the best music abi? If you were hustling to be the next Davido, you would make sure the music is sweet and beat is on point, but because it's for God, the music structure can be sub-par? And that is your best right?

Quality need not even be expensive or wasteful. Do the best with what you have. Some of the most creative stuff is actually quite simple. That's why we have minimalist design.

The minute you introduce music to worship, then music matters. You have introduced rules, discipline and structure. If you cannot adhere to certain standards, stick to spoken word. Music is soulish. Man is both living soul and quickened spirit.

I don't even know why we are having this conversation in 2019. Please the next generation should quickly come oh. I forgot this is the generation that thought jeans was evil. They can never get it. 😭😭
