Time to watch and tweet the #SuperBowl!

This is the one sporting event I watch every year. Even though I don’t sports, the pageantry and hoopla are really fun!

To sum up today’s #Trump bullshittery: dude says he’ll sign the funding bill that just passed Congress AND will declare a (totes bogus btw) national emergency so that he doesn’t have to honor it.
Worse, the “conservatives” are all supporting this. Including MITCH MCCONNELL who now suddenly wants to sing about it like it’s free candy.

Aren’t y’all supposed to be AGAINST Federal Government overreach?!

Oh right. Not when you’re the ones doing it.

So, I'm going to talk about this.

Two phrases I'll be discussing:

"Only Nixon could go to China."

and

"Working the refs."

Wikipedia explains the first allusion thusly:

"...the ability of a politician with an unassailable reputation among their supporters for representing and defending their values to take actions that would draw their criticism and even opposition if taken by someone without..."
I.e., EVERYBODY KNEW that Nixon was tough on those pinko commie communist pinkos, so he could open up diplomatic relations with China and no one would think he was going soft on them. Because he was Nixon.

THREAD. Watching the Superbowl last night felt downright bizarre. Mostly because I have the weirdest damn relationship to Boston sports now. And I actually think it's worth talking about.
Like many who grew up there, I loved the four local teams with fiery passion. But I feel like there was something in the air that went beyond normal fervor. Largely because the entire city was caught up in the attitude of "the curse."
That would be the curse of the great bambino, which stated that ever since the red sox traded Babe Ruth, they were destined never to win a championship again. And so it went for 80 years.

Even though creative work is about persistence far more than it's about inspirational breakthroughs, there are times when it just gets to you. To me. My work has stalled in the last year or more. I hope others can relate to this thread of the dark side and coming into the light.
2/ My work in progress for the last 20 years (not a typo) has been off and on, manic and dead in the water. #TheTenorBook, my sin, my soul - well, not really. But not *not* either. Far and away the most complex task I've ever set myself.
3/ Life got in the way *many* times and not just a little, but a lot. I tried to walk away from it half a dozen times. Path, not destination, I told myself. But every single time I'd review the photographs, re-read the interviews, I knew my drive to tell the story remained.

Sugar daddy au with a twist where Yoongi is a producer just starting out, and while he's happy he took the risk, he's struggling to make ends meet, often having to rely on his friends for help. They really don't mind since it's never anything much, food mostly, and they love him.
But Yoongi's unhappy with it, doesn't like mooching off his friends, so one night when he's been sulky after having to share Hoseok's dinner instead of buying his own again, Hobi's trying to cheer him up and jokes about how Yoongi should just become a sugar baby.
And Yoongi laughs, because that's ridiculous, he doesn't feel comfortable sharing his body for money and honestly would prefer to be the daddy if he had the money to do something like that anyway.

Following the direct intervention of President Bashar al-Assad, the Russian force pulled out this morning and avoided any clash with #Hezbollah in the area.

hezbollah maantin and kept all positions. The #Russia/n move was not coordinated.+

#Hezbollah did not...I repeat, did not pull out one single element from the area.

I spoke to people on the ground: The Russian decision was unclear and considered unwelcome by the forces on the ground. Still, many elements of this move are unclear.
