Let's have a discussion about @realDonalTrump's recent battle cry, calling Democrats 'socialists.' Is it woeful ignorance or intentional obfuscation? The terms Marxism, #Socialism & Communism are often used interchangeably. They are not remotely the same.

2/ Let's examine different systems & look at some differences. There are varying forms of Marxist/Leninist Communism (RU), Socialism, Capitalism & mixed systems. Communist China has a mixed market economy, w/private or state sectors controlling certain entities such as media.

3/ France, Italy & other European countries use free market economies but also incorporate socialist programs such as Universal Healthcare & free education. The U.S. is a Capitalist mixed economy, which also includes socialistic programs such as ...

4/ ... public libraries, schools & supplemented healthcare programs, including Medicare/Medicaid for seniors & low-income folks. Theoretically, this could be a decent system, but it's been manipulated to work for a small percentage of ppl. @realDonaldTrump & @GOP won't admit this

5/ The U.S.economy has been manipulated to a point where ppl are working more & more while receiving less & not receiving raises to meet the rising costs of living. @GOP wants us to believe that this inequity happens because ppl are lazy & w/o motivation.

6/ Let's look at Democratic Socialism, which is what many progressives want. It should not be confused with Marxist/Leninist Social control. A Socialist market economy would have worker cooperatives, with *some* govt. management of major industry & services. #PowerToThePeople

We can't allow @realDonaldTrump to change discussions w/lies & disingenuous claims. His interest is to control & profit from the U.S. @GOP will rubber stamp because it benefits their agenda. Talk to candidates about their positions & fight for a balanced solution. #VoteBlue /End
