Former @SyracuseU faculty member Julia Ganson thinks we should teach our kids about the "good work of #Hamas."
At the same event, @AvaCarmeli suggests violence against innocent people could be a legitimate response to #Zionism.
Pat Carmeli, member of @SyracuseU's Peace Council, quotes terrorist apologist @normfinkelstein -- "Palestinians have the right to use violence... #Israel has no right to use violence."
Event organizer @AvaCarmeli says that Israelis & Jews are falsely taught that #Israel is the only safe place for Jews.

@SyracuseU student @Justine_Brooke @campusreform asks, "Where would be another safe place for Jews to go in the Middle East?" She is laughed at & mocked.
Then a #BDS activist chimes in to say that she is not Israeli nor has she ever been to #Israel, but Israel must be racist because the United States is also racist.
She then assures us that she hasn't seen #WonderWoman and doesn't wear @revlon (except for their red lipstick💄 because it is great) because #Israel.
Can she answer @SyracuseU student @Justine_Brooke @campusreform's question about when the State of #Palestine was established?
Finally, throw out your cell phones because we're boycotting SMS! And Israeli #medicine too!
.@HenMazzig, you're going to want to see these. ^ ^ ^ THREAD ^ ^ ^
.@SyracuseU breaks their silence, clarifying that SU did not sponsor the forum and none of the speakers at the event are CURRENTLY employed by the university (Julia Ganson WAS on staff at SU from 2008-2016). dailyorange.com/2019/02/su-res…
.@SyracuseU can receive internship credit for working with the #Syracuse Peace Council, but SU Provost Michele Wheatly affirmed that no current students have internships with them.
Only two @SyracuseU students have had internships with the #Syracuse Peace Council in the past, the most recent being in 2014, per SU's press release. news.syr.edu/blog/2019/02/1…
Still, it is more than problematic that people within in this #Syracuse Peace Council community group espouse these views and that the group is listed on @SyracuseU's Writing Studies, Rhetoric & Composition internship site. wrt.syr.edu/undergraduate/…
More problematic is the fact that Julia Ganson, the woman who praised the "good work of #Hamas" formerly managed international training and fellowship programs for the Middle East and North Africa in @SyracuseU's executive education office for 8 years. jpost.com/Middle-East/Fo…
Miseducation and the perpetuation of misguided ideas are dangerous phenomena whether they stem from the education system, community orgs, public officials, or in this case, these individuals, promoting false, hateful & #antisemitic rhetoric to achieve their goals.
This is the crux of the #BDS movement, using distorted information to demonize, defame, and destroy #Israel.
