Trump’s DOJ, enabled by the GOP who allowed the #TexasFoldEm lawsuit to happen in the first place, just said that they want the ENTIRE ACA scrapped.

As I keep pointing out (and as @RonBrownstein JUST WROTE ABOUT a few days ago), while it’s fine to discuss & debate #MFA vs #Med4America, etc, THE #ACA IS STILL UNDER ATTACK. MFA/etc won’t happen until 2022 at the earliest. The ACA is under attack NOW.

REMINDER: If the entire ACA were to be repealed:
—16 million people would lose Medicaid
—9 million people would lose subsidized exchange coverage
—850,000 would lose BHP coverage in MN & NY
...and that’s just for starters.

—Medicare Part D donut hole? Reopened.
—Children being allowed to stay on their parents plans until age 26? Gone.
—Discrimination against those with preexisting conditions? Back.
—Annual & lifetime limits on coverage? Back.
—Caps on out of pocket expenses? Gone.

Speaking of preexisting conditions: Before the ACA, you could RETROACTIVELY be kicked off your coverage when you needed it most if your carrier claimed that you didn’t include your ENTIRE medical history when you applied, by combing line by line through your paperwork.

If you forgot to mention a single doctors visit or prescription—even for something utterly benign and unrelated like acne—they’d use that as an excuse to terminate your policy back to the beginning of the year...right when you actually need the coverage most. That would be back.

AS FOR THE #TexasFoldEm CASE ITSELF, it’s my understanding that oral arguments in front of the 5th Circuit Court are scheduled for the week of July 8th.
