Judge in Hastert trial to rule on subpoena to Sibley Austin, the firm that represented Hastert in trial wherein he admitted to being a serial sexual predator.

Implication: he lied at trial...

and that Hastert's lies were coached by Sibley Austin associates.

So, this is really interesting - that it appears that part of the lies involved his inclusion of Individual A in the list of boys he molested.

This is where it starts to get really weird.

Remember that Hastert DID admit to molesting Scott Cross and Steven Rheinboldt in his pre-sentencing statement to the court...

He didn't ever actually admit to molesting Individual A, he only made statements that indicated he didn't deny it.

And considering he was willing to pay him $3.5M for SOMETHING, that was always kind of weird.

So, what else could possibly lead someone to pay $3.5M to keep someone quiet if they DON'T remember doing something?

Maybe it's because they both remember something else he did around the same time.

Maybe - after Rheinboldt graduated, there was another wrestler in the same year as Individual A, maybe someone very close to him - maybe even in the same weight class - who absorbed the brunt of Hastert's abuse while he was in high school... one off, or a replacement, perhaps?

And, maybe Individual A knew about it, having experienced a bit of it himself...

And, maybe when that fellow wrestler went missing a few years after graduating - the year before Hastert first ran for office - maybe Individual A knew something about that too.

And maybe, though that fellow wrestler didn't have anything wealth to speak of before he disappeared, there was some secret tangible benefit to his parents (or, rather, his father & stepmother) so they officially filed for a declaration of death in absentia EXACTLY 7y later.

And maybe that fellow wrestler had a brother in whom he confided his secrets, one who didn't judge his sexual interactions with a man because he was also gay - and there isn't much of a gay community in a town of 1200 residents.

And when that wrestler's brother is a flight attendant on the first flights hijacked on 9/11 - just after Hastert came into the limelight as the new Speaker - and those parents sue to keep the 9/11 victims compensation funds away from the brother's husband...

Especially as it is now known that the US Government had audio tapes of the planning of 9/11; though I don't think I can share the details publicly, there are some interesting scheduling affordances made surrounding the selection of the day of the attack

But there are rumours that some in DC had advance knowledge and may have used that knowledge for personal profit...

That investment in the Prairie Parkway always seemed a bit out of reach financially to me to someone who started out with $100k net worth.

PS: his business partner Ingemunson? He was also accused of covering up Hastert's alleged sexual assault of a 9 year old boy during the 1970s as the Kendall County State's Attorney.

He later became the honorary chair of the Illinois GOP after Hastert took the Speaker's seat...

And his daughter is currently the Kendall County circuit clerk, overseeing the courts where Individual A's case is currently being heard.

But I digress.

$3.5M is a big payout for a single sexual assault.

And, given that Hastert's initial response to the incident was to claim he was being extorted, I'm going to suggest that perhaps his own assault wasn't the only thing that Individual A was expected to remain silent about...

But if Denny's gonna play it like Individual A violated his agreement, I'm going to suggest a few questions that I'd be asking if I had subpoena power:

How many 126lb wrestlers did you molest from 1974 to 1981?

Were any wrestlers you molested declared legally dead in absentia?
Did you have anything to do with the disappearance of any of those wrestlers?

Have you ever been involved in the shorting of stocks? During 2001?
What was the source of funding for investment in the Prairie Parkway trust?

List all contacts you have with agents of or affiliates of American Airlines.

Why was the trust for 15 CR 315 run out of a personal residence in New Hampshire? Who was the agent responsible for managing that trust?

Have you ever transmitted any compensation to victims, their families or friends other than Individual A?

Did you molest any underage boys after 1985?
Did you engage in sexual activity with anyone under the age of 18 while abroad?

Aside from Stephen Reinboldt, have any underage boys you molested become incapacitated or deceased, and unable to come forward?

Have you ever provided compensation, either monetarily or in kind, to any of the litigants involved in SDNY 1:18-cv-11910?
