They then hand each other Pulitzer prizes for whoever has managed to distract and deceive the most people from what's really going on.
In the 1890's Joseph Pulitzer & William Randolph Hearst competed with each other as to who could tell more lies & produce the most fake headlines and pictures to sell more papers.

This became known as "Yellow Journalism" which is the model used by WaPo, NYT & all major MSM today
Total lies and fabrications were made up by Pulitzer & Hearst such as "American women being strip searched by the Spanish" to sell more papers & start the Spanish-American War of 1898.

The exact same methods have been used to sell EVERY war since with "Nothing But Lies".

1. While the YV protests actually began on 17.11.18, I think most are aware that frustration with the government has been building for many many years. Sarkozy certainly played a big role in this. Deep-rooted contractions have been left unaddressed; offshore accounts were filled.
2. Without wanting to dedicated a lot of space to the details of each French government since the last massive riots in 1968, I think it is easier to proceed from the fact that France has been essentially occupied by America for decades. For me, this helps to explain a lot.
