There's a conundrum in the very nature of justice: it necessarily involves coercion of the criminal, and the legitimate use of force. Psychopaths see pacifism as weakness to be exploited; the necessary force to effect justice is only "violence" (in my view) when it is not lawful.
Our hankering for justice can be miscontrued as being a desire for violence or authoriatianism. Indeed, it is guaranteed that misguided or malevolent people will do exactly that. The elimination of physical force is neither possible nor desirable. Justice demands full compliance.
I am personally against the death penalty in general as it has a poor track record and is too easily abused. I support execution for treason as a special case against societal ruin risk. There are others who vigorously disagree, and whose position I can respect on this matter.
The execution of celebrities and propaganda merchants for murder and treason is going to raise new and difficult problems. A corrupt media culture has elevated these people unnaturally high, and their tumble to the ground (or dangle mid-air) is going to create extreme reactions.
It behooves us to be mindful of our language in these times, and to think twice about how we phrase things and how they might be twisted to misrepresent our real intent. I would be unsurprised to see some civil unrest when the SHTF big time; this is a huge societal shock coming.
This is leading up to the following: it's OK to use forceful language, but not violent language. Non-violent communication (NVC) is a thing: cnvc.org A #QArmy digital warrior in an information war needs to recognise that this REALLY isn't a game we are playing.
Soldiers in kinetic wars know that they have to keep their weapons in proper storage, clean and maintain them, and use them safely and responsibly. "Friendly fire" is not friendly in the slightest. How you act in cyberspace during memetic conflict has consequences in meatspace.
I am not perfect, and I do try to reflect on whether each thing I send out is serving my own ego or emotonal outlet needs, or the greater welfare of all. I do put the "safety catch" on quite often to avoid random outbursts that do more harm than good.
And in summary: in the delivery of epic justice at scale, there's a difference between legitimate and helpful use of force, and the illigitimate and unhelpful resort to violence. This applies both in the physical and the virtual. We are all de facto conscripts, so use discipline.
