As a member of #Brighton/#Hove's small Jewish community I can tell you that there is something fundamentally wrong with our great city at present. Our community deserves more.

Time and time again these incidents happen here - in our home - and they do not happen without our community shaking their heads in disbelief.

"If you prick us do we not bleed?"

What is it about B&H now that seems to bring out the very worst in some?

What is it that makes some think they can use language they wouldn't dream of using with any other minority community?

Why are we - a comm. that has lived here for 250 years - now feeling so concerned?

There are some fantastic Labour members, the vast majority of whom understand the harm a small minority to do the reputation of B&H & to our community

These amazing people have stood with us through thick & thin, we have long memories and we shall never forget all they've done

Our friends in Labour helped to pass the IHRA definition which was a moment of great pride for us all. Other local figures took it upon themselves to demand action and to loudly declare that antisemitism has no place in our city. These are true friends

Sadly though in recent years a dark, horrible underbelly has appeared here. A small group of far-left activists intent on creating division, they are becoming a stain on our great City.

We shouldn't ever have to question if we are welcome in our own home!

It is surely time for @tom_watson to look at everything that's gone on these last few years and say #EnoughIsEnough?

Our community as with many communities now is small & ageing but we will always reject the hate & division of the few with every bone in our body
