The Congressional Budget Office projects 32 million people will be uninsured in 2020, up 2 million from this year and 4.5 million more than in 2016.

CBO now projects that 7 million more people will be uninsured by 2021 due to repeal of the ACA's individual mandate penalty.
This is such an important and poorly understood result from the Congressional Budget Office: Federal subsidies for employer-based insurance for people under age 65 are projected to be higher than for Medicaid and much higher than for ACA premium subsidies.
