We are facing an all out assault on the rights and safety of members of groups defined outside "the people" or "the nation" by a fascist regime. This is an integral feature of authoritarianism. The Christian Right is Trump's base, and they assert this social hierarchy. #Resist
The minority rule the Christian Right wants to impose for as long as they can--like Trump, radical Christians have contempt for the rule of law and seek power and control above all--places men over women, white people over minorities, straight over queer, Christians over others.
Of course, one also has to be the "right kind" of Christian--white or willing to accept the hardline theology that upholds white supremacism, and willing to assert patriarchal and virulently anti-LGBTQ theology. Other Christians are not "real" Christians to the Christian Right.

I was raised by all women.

My father had gotten my mother pregnant when she was just 15. His father
insisted on an abortion or he'd 'write my pops out of the will'. My pops bailed.

My mother raised me--and 4 siblings--mostly alone.

Mom's water broke in biology class. she finished HS--preggo--with me, in 1975. There's pictures of me as the little cheer squad mascot for the #RioLindaKnights.

As I grew up, I remembered the power and influence and wisdom of WOMEN in my life. My Great Grandmother was the key:
Great Grandma Florence had bought 3/4 of an acre in #NorthSac (w/ her husband), when acres were $5.00 ea. They couldn't afford a full one! Great Grandpa died & I never knew him.

Grandma was our true #MATRIARCH. She had a huge garden w/veggies on one side, flowers on the other.

So - thread on Depression (as promised)

The truth is I don’t remember exactly when I got depressed or why but I’m going to try to explain it, my failed attempts at getting help, and how I feel now.
2/ I should start by saying I know I’m not a good looking person. It used to be one of the main reasons I was unhappy but I’ve come to terms with it. Years on hotornot netted me a 4.1/10 which is somewhere between Steve Buscemi and an Orc. I grew facial hair to hide most of that.
3/. Anyways, 1997 is the year I fell into a seemingly bottomless pit. After Spending my entire life previously living in a nice rich town with the same people, but struggling to make friends...I got into 8th grade and finally started to fit in.

And then my mom met a guy...

I need to say a couple of things while I have been retweeting all this, But first I need to thank .@MarkAmesExiled , @yashalevine , @mtracey and .@TheWarNerd and somewhat give props to Amy Martin of Empire Files, for exposing the lies we have seen for the last several years.
The next thing I want to say is I am for the Military. I have many friends who have who have served, and will continue to serve. I pray for them, and their safe return home with their families and loved ones.
And I want to make this very clear. Before i continue - before I say another word. There is such a thing and still is a thing called White Supremacy. Period. There is no such thing as White Privilege. There was such a thing as a "Patriarchal" structure but that has weakened.

My date followed up by asking, “If your boyfriend asked you to cook for him, would you?” I grinned, as I realised my date was sadly playing from a script. I replied, “I don’t have a guy I like who’s asking me to cook, so I can’t say.”
I think my date thought I was being coy. But, I wasn’t. I was just being honest. A while ago, I decided to deal in reality and not hypotheticals. I have tried and failed to control life. All my effort got me was an anxiety problem and therapy.
